2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Master Cylinder Cover Gasket Discontinued

The master cylinder cover gasket on my 96 4x4 2500 truck is deformed. Went to the dealer to order another one today and they tell me it is discontinued and simply not available. Lid with gasket as well. Checked O'Riley, AZone, NAPA, and Carquest and they all refer to a smaller gasket for 7700 GVW. Mine is a 8800 GVW with a large rectangle master cylinder tank. The lid is similar to some GM replacements but a slighly different size. Does anyone have an idea about where to get one? Thanks!

That's a small but vital part to be unavailable. I never realized the mc was such an oddball relic, nor have I ever thought of our '96s as "old". It won't be long before we'll need to rely on sources like LMC and Classic for 'restoration parts' rather than repair parts.

It might be a good excuse to upgrade to the hydroboost.
