Hello – I’m an old timer, going to finally retire my 2000 2500 and have ordered a 2021 3500.

My question is on extended warranty – I’ve decided for various reasons I will purchase one. I would like to get the 8 years as my mileage will most likely not be over 60k, so looking at the 8 year 60k or 75k miles.

I see lots of posts where the MaxCare seems to be a reputable way to go. Looking online I can’t seem to find it specifically – there are tons of plans with similar names and various prices…

Can anyone please direct me where to look?

Thank you for your help,

TSmtih

Max Care for sure!!!

I went with zero deductible 7/100 and it will time out perfectly.

too bad you did not negotiate before ordering.

Not sure if your dealer sells aftermarket warranties but my dealer sells Ally 10 to 1 over Chrysler. Chrysler isn't covering as much according to them, makes the dealer jump through hoops and really adds a lot of time to warranty repairs. They claim Ally is easy to work with and always pays.

I posted a sample policy linked below and some of the other Clown Act companies that waste the shop and your time. It appears to only exclude the DPF and Cat converter, but, federal emission warranties are long on them anyway.

So far the MaxCare has covered vehicle rental while the truck is in the dealer waiting to be worked on for stupid stuff. 2 days for a battery warranty, same to swap a simple blower motor... The factory warranties are stingy on loaners and rentals now and don't get me started on the econobox Jeep garbage I get as it is.

MOPAR Maxcare is the dealer's problem that they can not blame on a third party company putting YOU at risk for the tow bill and all other costs. You have to cut the BS with an axe in the finance office to get them off the krap products and onto the MOPAR warranty. I would use the above site in the future and tell the finance person to quit wasting our time.

I would say you have a lazy dealer that is just taking the easy route for themselves. Just sold our RAM and getting back 718 bucks for the unused 2.5 years and 46K miles of the 8/120K Maxcare the I paid something like 2435 for.

Max care on my 07. Used the hell out of it, more than paid for it.
Max care on my 18. Hoping to use the hell out of it again.

Dealer gets serious kickbacks from those aftermarket warranties. That's why they push them. Should of researched the Chrysler warranty and the aftermarket. I highly doubt any aftermarket warranty will surpass the max care from Chrysler.

No such vehicle like that exists.

Mine does, I took out extended warranty on my 01, nothing went wrong until after the extended warranty ran out, my 07 I didnt take the extended warranty, and never needed it if i had it, you're wasting your money on extended warranties, Your money you waste it the way you want to!

I bought the MAXCARE 8y / 125k miles warranty from my dealer two weeks after buying the truck, they matched the lowest online price ( I think it was Chrysler warranties dot com). Shop around and ask them if they will match or beat it.. Bought the warranty on my 04 when I bought it used and it more than paid for itself.... Some will nay say... but if you have an expensive repair its totally worth it... I doubt those who think EXT warranties are a waste of money would say the same about car insurance which we all have and hope never to use.. same thinking way..........

Cheers! and enjoy that new ride!! I know I do!

All warranties come down to the fine print! Staying with the factory(MAXCARE), you'll have less headaches in the long run. As mentioned, the aftermarket warranties have more benefits to the seller! It's the same with the finance rates, how many sold and type sold. This is why they're pushed on us more than the factory extened ones! Due your homework just like you did when you picked out your truck! Enjoy the new ride and that new chapter in your life!!! Ladies and gentleman, enjoy these trucks!!!!

So your two trucks went 10 years/100k miles with nothing breaking or failing? Hell my 07 needed all u-joints and steering linkage all paid under max care at 60k miles. I also had the following fail and get replaced under maxcare. Driver's side tow mirror, power steering hose, front axle pinion seal, washer fluid level sensor, both front wheel bearings, transfer case rear output seal, parking brake release handle. Also covered a handful of tsb repairs and software updates. Front and rear bumpers were replaced under the 36/36 warranty. Couldn't tell you how many parts were replaced after all the warranties expired. So NO my 07 didn't make it 10 years without warranties. Like I said in my post, my maxcare more than paid for itself. Hoping the same on my 18.

So far my 18 has had several tsb and software updates under warranty, passenger side sun visor, tailgate handle/camera assembly and a transfer case switch. Truck is far from 10 years old.

So I will keep investing my money on maxcare warranties. My 18 I paid for the maxcare with bonus money, so it didn't actually cost me a penny.

I told the Service Rep that the third brake light assembly was leaking as I found water behind the back seat. I spoke to the mechanic and he mentioned they would not cover the repair. He said he would remove and apply some sealant and not charge me for it.

Not long after buying my 2015 Ram I bought the Maxcare 7/100k policy, off the internet, through a Hudson, MI, dealer, for about $1900. My first extended warranty on anything. My thoughts were that the newer trucks were way more complicated with computers, DEF system, electrical system, etc.

Fast forward to last month: I broke down 1200 miles from home with a bad turbo. Local Barstow dealer took a week to fix it and said the cost would be well over $5000, but my Maxcare would cover it after a $100 deductible. Dealer gave me a rental for the week and I have submitted my expenses (meals and RV Park) to FCA (about $500). Will let you know when/if they pay the expenses.

Truck has been to my local dealer several times for recalls and they always give me a rental if they keep it over a day. They gave me a rental for a full week when they replaced a rear axle seal and couldn't figure out how to clean the oil off the brakes.

Still not a fan of extended warranties, but sometimes it's worth it.

sounds like you got stuck with a lemon, sounds like my 99 3/4 ton 4x4, but I made them buy it back

Not at all. The 07 was a great truck. Sold it at 140k with the original clutch and dual mass. Had most of its original parts. Engine and drivetrain untouched besides regular maintenance. It would not remotely qualify for lemon law buy back. No vehicle will last 10 years without warranty repairs, non warranty repairs, or preventive maintenance. Never had a vehicle that didn't have something done under warranty. Factory, extended or short term coverage. There is a reason they have warranties. If my ram didn't come with a warranty, I would not buy it.
