WD Hitch adjustment?

Boom from Ind. Mo. to the east

Titan and Denman

Hi again hit the wrong button:-laf

Anyways Michelin conversion to 16" , too rich for me.

Looked at the Maxxis but made in China and couldn't find alot on them.

Denmans make the Famous Ground Hawgs based in OHIO , but there trailer tire

is made in Mexico, but alot of people are switching to them liking the extra weight rating.

Titan made in Iowa was a great tire to me till I got my

Fiver out and brought it home about an hour and chunked one, thank God it

made it to the house before it went down. I was going very fast with it so I can't blame the tire totaly , but its only 3 years old and a load range C.

But I got a bigger Fiver and 4 years old, so new tires are at the top of the list.

The Titans also got Load Range E with 2800# I like the extra insurance.

BTW no more 75-80mph runs on trailer tires, I'm to old for that.

I have a 1998 NU-Wa Hitchiker Premeir which had goodyear LT 235/85R16 load range-E wrangler HTs when it came from the factory. After 21k miles my first ht blew out due to weak side wall and caused damage to the rig. Had it replaced with Maxxis LT 235/85R16 LR-E. At 23k-miles had next goodyear blow and again replaced all the remaining goodyears with Maxxis. After 4k-miles on the Maxxis, had a failure on one, seperation of tread from the casing. Just a note: I am very critical about correct pressures and also about weighing the rig to make sure it is not above the ratings of the tires. Maxxis does not honor any type of warranty and did not pay for replacement. After another 10k-miles another tire seperated and I decided that Maxxis was trash. Sent all tires back to Maxxis

but no joy with warranty pay-back. At that time I changed all to goodyear G614 tires.

2001. 5 HO,6sp. longbed.

Titan Tires.

Here is my experience with Titan Tires. 4 ea 225/75r15 Load range E, load rated at 2830 each. . Approx 11,000 miles towing and 3 years 1 month old. Tires on Sunnybrook 33' BWS, total axle weight 7620 lbs as towed, tire pressure at 80 lbs. On trip from Des Moines, IA to Deming, NM blew one near Topeka, KS, next blew near Amarillo, TX and last at Alamogordo, NM. Saved what was left of them, had two entire treads off the tires and two casings, they all looked similar, like someone had cut them from rim to rim across the tires and all treads stripped off. Destroyed wheel skirting on both sides of the trailer, $275 for parts to replace. All interstate or 4 lane highway driving on the trip. Sent photos and letter to Titan International on 6/15/06, I have a receipt that they received the letter and pictures on 6/23/06 at 9:14AM. I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. They used to be Armstrong Tire in Des Moines but Titan drove out the union for more profit. Will never have another Titan tire on anything,

Thanks for the Info, Damar.

Didn't get the two Titan II's to replace my old Goodyears. Found the same size and load E at the Tirefactory. They are made by Denman (Mexico made).

The two Titans I have were as a result of tire failure while in Alaska.

Perhaps(I hope!) I won't have the same experience as you with them. I am only pulling a 24 foot 5th Wheel. Not quite as heavy as yours. At least all four tires are of the same load range.

Thanks again.

Good info here. My tt blew a Carlisle this past weekend. It was the front tire on the left side. I don't think I hit anything and all pressures were checked before travel. Changed the tire, continued on. Today, I was checking the ancillary damage (wheel well, insulation, water line, skirt) and noticed the rear tire had a big round spot on it. Took both down to the local Big O to have them take a look. He couldn't tell what happened to the grenaded one, but the other one is coming apart. Could be because of the sudden extra weight. I'm going to contact Carlisle, as it appears they don't have the best track record, and also Forest River. We bought the trailer new in June of 05 and the tires were manufactured in the 42nd week of 03! They were almost two years old when they were put on! Check the DOT date on the tires when you get them to make sure they aren't old when you get them.

What about Trail Master or Super Trail, I've heard both names for the ST tires made in China and original equipped on Arctic Fox and Nash 5er. Are they any good? I want Michelin XPS Rib, 16" LT, but the factory nor any dealer are willing to switch them out.

Have them give you a small credit for no putting on junk tires and pay the difference for the Michelin XPS RIBs, you will not be sorry! SNOKING
