Competition May Madness HP numbers are coming in

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition where is the saturday may0517 CA pul

Competition who was at may madness sled pull

It is no surprise to me that DD has been so much a force on the dyno, after all HP is the name of their game!!!!!! Congrats to Jim and BD for stepping up with some big power too, and also Joe D, 634 (basically) is AMAZING on #2 alone. It was not all that long ago that the 24V was hoping to get 450! Now almost 790? WOW.

ANYONE can make power with "giggle gas",,While we can not deny the nitrous numbers, they are amazing, lets see how many make it thru the dragstrip and how many of them drag the sled and live,,Can we at least post the real the real numbers,#2 alone, for those who do not care about drug sniffers and leave the transmission wars aside for those who would like to see the true story unfold... . No drug numbers... Just the number #2 numbers, thats where the real power is... ... . Andy

I only wish ATS had a truck with some serious HP there,so the transmission could better be compared to the others.

What am I chopped liver?:D I know I'm not there, but I am planning Thunder in Muncie. Don't really need to be there, when they break into the 12's on diesel only we'll compare. It seems to only be happening East of the Mississippi though.

So you're going to dyno at TiM?Oo.

Andrew

I want to say congratulations to all of the high HP guys at MM! All of the numbers are very impressive. I see that 800 is just a stones throw away for many of our members... .

Everyone have a safe trip home.

Doug

Eric,I didnt see your hp #'s listed,I know your truck is strong,I didnt think you were there, since i didnt see you on the dyno sheet. I read your posts last week,I know your in the 12's without tuning, and with driving thru the water to launch. How much hp are you putting thru the ATS trans? It would have been cool to see the results of drag race day with a DTT truck,BD,and ATS trucks, all with 20 or so HP of each other, then the more efficient transmission would show itself easier, since the trucks are fairly even, although different gearing, and weights,4x all affect the performance.

I know Eric was not there, but I would like to hear some more of the results from events going on right now.

That would be a nice thing to see. One truck, one driver, NO TUNEING once testing begains. about 10 different passes with each transmission. Then we could really see the winner is.

Andrew

Andrew, I really think the only way you would see a big difference is to have a transmission break. They all seem to be running in lockup now, the big dogs anyway.

Briar I think that you need to find out the reason that the trans in Ted's truck failed. It had nothing to do with over powering it. Or anything to do with us. But I know that Ted is keeping it to himself as this is a learning curve that other companies will encounter. I think that Ted is pretty happy with the outcome of the hole situation. :D. Aren't Ya. :D :D

I'm dying here. I want to know what happened at the sled pulls and yesterday's racing.

I'm still upset that my truck wasn't ready to make the voyage. ARG!

Don,

you need to make another phone call man. :) Get the inside scoop and let us know.

-Chris

Lsmith,I'm not 100% positive, but I doont think anyone uses lockup until well into 3rd,at which point, yes, they would all the be the same, provided none slipped. If guys are going into lockup sooner than that,it must be tough on the trans,I tried it with my 96,it jerked so bad, shifting in lockup,i wont do that again.

Like Don said: "Stefan,

What kinda HP did your Dad put out? What did Piers do?

Bully Dog?

Don~"

Gimme #'s... .

And, oh BTW... who sells the best transmission??!! :D

Matt

Stefan, I'm sure I'll find out sooner or later the technical details of what happened to Ted's transmission. But the phone call I was told you made, to a certain promoter, pulling out of a certain event, due to "poor sportsmanship " on his part, and my part, did not sit well with me. The promoter in question and I extended Ted every courtesy in the book, from a tow, a ride, to my Good Sam card, even an offer to find a drain pan and take a look. Not ONCE did I mention any competing brands, or his choice of brands of transmissions, not even in jest. I was upset by his bad luck, because Ted is truly one of the finer people in the TDR I've met. He did refuse all offers of my help. I still wish there was something more I could have done.

My slam post further up in this thread was aimed at Don M's intent in stirring the pot by throwing transmission brands into the equation. If you take it as a knock on DTT, sorry. It wasn't . You also would never catch me saying to anyone running a DTT transmission that they made a poor choice. I don't do that. Simply a point to make that trannies do fail.

The poor sportsmanship wasn't on my end. It's on the other end, in pulling out of an event simply because the promoter runs a competing brand. Your dad could have called or emailed me if he wanted the truth about what happened at Maryland.

due to some timing issues HVAC and my truck were not able to make it to DD for the Dyno runs--so we Dyno'd on the dynojet over at Silver State---

HVAC layed down 600. 9 on Diesel only--he did not dyno with NOS or propane so there is no #'s for that--he also ran a 12. 8 on his first 1/4 mile--there should be more info coming

Bully Dog was so nice to sponsor me and we slapped on their NOS system Friday morning and we hit 670 with it and 450 with out--no lock up switch which everyone else has and uses for dyno--

Cuminntstrkin(Jim Fuller) won his sled pulling class with no drugs--two runs totalling 604' on a 300' track--congrats to Jim(one full pull which was awesome)

I won my class with 2 runs of 569' with no drugs--(one full pull)

the sled was set the same for all classes--500hp on diesel and above... . stock... . and modified but under 500hp on diesel-----the track was not the greatest...

maybe Jim will punch in here with some more info... ... . chris

Do you know what a crybaby you have been sounding like lately?

It seems that no matter what is said you have something bad to say back about it. Some of us here like to know what is what in the performance game. You have been screaming ATS for a couple of months. Now you lost Mr ATS. Suck it up. Quit stirring the pot and get your websit up or something.

Any #'s / info on Bill's/Piers/BD's results???

Notice how I kept Piers between the other two. . ;) ;)

Actually, I think TDR needs to print up some striped T-Shirts and issue 'em to the best 'refs' in this league... ;) :D

Bob

Briar,

I realize that you are on a campaign to run my dad down, but at least get all the facts straight before trying. If my dad was a poor sport because Eric is running ATS why would he write the cheque after Eric's transmission was already installed (March 28, 2002)? For anyone that is wondering my dad didn't keep the money he gave it to Ted for some parts that he never had before. :D Ted told us that you and your son did give him a push and that is called sportsmanship. If my dad was looking for the facts why would he look any further than his customer, we do believe what he said. Briar we have no problem with what you did and who ever gave you the info that you are talking about obviously didn't give you the whole story. So about pulling out because Eric runs someone elses stuff, why would we care he gets it Free and you can't compete with that. Eric had made us a deal that he wouldn't get his personal stuff in the way with his sponsors for the show. And with him admitting that he said it (that Ted should have gone with ATS) and saying his comment was to lighten the mood, come on. That's called kickin someone when they're down.
