How did you guys with Mechanical FP guages hook them up and run them in the cab? I already have the banjo bold drilled and tapped and a needle valve installed. But I thought I would check with everyone on here as to how they ran them in the cab? I was thinking I piece of hydraulic hose but I am defenitly open to suggestions.

TIA

I run 1/8'' nylon boost tubing pushed though an outer sheath of 1/4'' tubing to protect against kinks and cuts. Compression fittings on each end. I've done it this way on several trucks without a problem, over five years on my personal rigs without a problem.

In my opinion anything more is an overkill.

Most auto parts sell mechanical oil pressure gauge tubing kits with all the fittings in either copper or plastic. I prefer to buy the tubing by the foot because it doesn't come in a tight coil that's hard to work with like the kits do, auto parts have it for cheap also.

Have thought of using copper rather than plastic but didn't feel it would hold up well to engine movement, it has to flex somewhere and might eventually break.

Take care not to overtighten the compression fittings, they may leak, finger tight plus half turn with a wrench is plenty.

well that will work perfect. I actually happen to have a oil press. kit in the shop that was gonna go in an old truck i dont have anymore so that will work great.

always right on top of things

thanks russell
