Finally opened the wiring loom on my 06' Dodge Megacab driver rear door. There were only two wires that were ok. All others in need of repair. I knew the door lock had not worked in some time. Since truck is no longer daily driven this wasn't a big deal. Once the speaker stopped working it was time to act. Somehow the power window never had a problem. I'll open the passenger rear tomorrow. The driver rear is my daughter's preferred entry.

An all to common problem that has lasted since the early 90's in Chrysler bi-products, Jeep Grand Cherokee. Fix is solder new wires with more strands in place of those. It takes time to do it right, not just go buy another one from the dealer. IIRC the $ for a new one was ridiculous.

Good luck with your repair

yea pretty common if you search the 2-3 previous threads you can get each harness around $35-40 apiece from the supplier posted

thats the exact route i did, new harness in rear doors.

**side note

When installed the harness i drilled a new hole for the plastic thing that goes into a hole to hold the harness in place. (clossest to the rubber boot going to pillar )

I drilled a new location for the "Hanger" higher and a tad closer to the leading edge of the door. -- result slight higher curve of wires inside of door - so as door opens the wire in the boot ARE NOT near as tight as it originally installed

so now when the door is open the wires have way more slack in the rubber boot area hopefully prolonging any future damage/repair
