Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Smarty

I know Marco says it adds the HP as a EZ but I say BS! The fuel saver #1 runs like a EZ. #9 is KILL MODE!!!! I will be at Vandy on Wendsday morning. If Wallace, Gap, and who ever else wants to give it a try over lunch I'm game. I would like to hear what yall think! Or maybe Thursday.

I'm game. I'd love to try it on my Auto equipped truck. I'll talk to andy and see if we can hook up. Nothing else I'd like to set my speedo with it for my taller tires. Can you do that on the fly?

I wondered what kind of power the fuel saver would put out. People don't realize that the EZ doesn't put out 65 HP like Edge claims. You're only gonna get about 40HP out of one. When you look at real world numbers, that makes the Smarty look even more impressive. Although I'm only trusting Marco's 60 RWHP claim because he said so. I have heard of anybody dynoing one yet to back that up. Maybe we can find out on the 25th of March! :D

Gap - the Smarty is VIN locked and I think the only thing that will work on more than one truck at a time is the code reader. You could calibrate your speedo for your tire size, but you would have to set it back to the original settings before Steve could use the box on his truck again.

Steve - how are the smoke levels on #9? Is it still controllable at low boost?

Your in luck..... you have a couple of 1st Gen guru's (besides odvious Mechanics @ Cedar City) in your neck of the woods. Terry Johnson & Joe Moran. PM or post your # and I will call Terry tomorrow and give it to him. ;)

Are you sure its vin locked? If so then it could never be used on any other trucks. I thought you could reprogram your original stock program then program another truck. If its the later way then its not vin locked. Just trying to learn about all these toys out there.

I think I understand what you're saying, but your post almost sounds like you're describing a VIN lock. It can only be used on one truck at a time. So if I wanted to let you try it on your truck, I would first have to program my ECM back to stock and that unlocks it to be used on another truck. If you used it, I couldn't use it again until you set your truck back to stock form. Check out the FAQ link that I posted if you're unclear about how it works. Marco explains everything there. Or you can do like I did and read all 24 pages of the Smarty thread. :-laf

If people could just go around programming stock ECMs, Marco wouldn't be able to sell more than 25 or 30 of these! :-laf

He was calling me Sir too! He kept saying, YesSir, if I asked him anything! I think it's just cause I'm getting old though or he knew he was in the presence of royalty.

Hey do I remember one of you guys telling me that somebody slipped the clutch in the ZOOM truck at the meeting in Dickson? I was thinking somebody said they took it out and it slipped under load. Am I imagining this?

twernt me... I didn't drive it too hard, but did row through the gears pretty quickly at Gary's request. I thought it drove great, no slippage.

the clutch was great as far as i could tell. we will just have to see how it does in the lucky prize winner's trk. from what i understand he has a lot more hp than the zoom trk. i am not sure what friction mtl was in the zoom trk either.

You guys are gonna get Piston Slapper mad at us and he will let lose the rath of his domain!!! :-laf

Hey, I saw this on another thread and thought I would share it with you all in case you haven't seen it, it's a spreadsheet that you can DL for the service and everything for your truck, keeps track of it all automatically, all you have to do is plug in numbers. That is what I read about it anyway, hopefully it won't make a liar outta me!!!

It's about 3/4 of the way down the page.
