Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Hope you get it figured out Glenn. Meacham and "Corn" are the only two guys I trust to work on my truck anymore. I hope they can get you squared away or at least point you in the right direction for some warranty work.

Thanks Guys for the heads-up on Dixie Diesel, probably gonna end up buying a modified pump from Jannetty Racing, but I'm gonna call Taylor on Elm Hill PK, I believe their just up on the hill and same side as Truck Pro, thanks everyone

That's exactly right, but be careful they are in a little "strip mall" type joint and you have to turn in down on the opposite end of the parking lot. ;)

EDIT:

Man busy day tomorrow. My best friends grandfather want's me to put his all original early/mid 70's Lincoln with only 30/40K miles on it on Ebay in the morning (after a nice little rinse off from the pressure washer :-laf )

Then its back to my house to 1st install my new Posi-Lok cable central axle disconnect on my Dodge.

After that's done then I have to pull the motor out of my 'ol 79 K20. All my starter problems from last year has finally eaten the flywheel teeth up and it needs replacing. whew! Busy day tomorrow. Oo. :-laf

Andy

Hope it works out for you. I know you have to tired of dealing with. Lost internet at home and have not been able to get on all week. Comcast suppose to come out today and fix it. Logged on at work this morning since no bosses and around. Had alot to catch up on.

Wade

I would be embarrased to put a mod sheet on my dash.

How interesting would this be Stock lol :{

But you've got a Jacob Exhaust Brake. I don't know anything about them things. I might want to see it and hear it and feel it.

DON'T be shy about it. It's NOT a contest (unlike me and Bean on the 4-lane a minute ago) :-laf It's about the exchange of information without (as much of) the sales pitch that accompanies glossy print ads. And it's a lot easier than looking up each truck profile online during a meeting...

So I think I'll swap a Dana 70 for a Dana 80 today. mmmmmmmmbygod. ;)

Freakin' brake crap. Hoo needs 'em on the rear axle anyway? Shortbed/longbed plus valving issues.

So I adjusted the 70. Burnt 'em up pretty good. insulation melted off the park cables.

Excessive Blow-By???

Showing my true 12v noooob-ness here...

Does anyone KNOW if this is "excessive" blow-by or not?

I'm still somewhat concerned about a blown headgasket. No bubbles in the coolant, and no leaks (knock on wood) in the cooling system. The oil you see is the result of about 5 days in the garage. A couple of those days the truck was driven (heavy footed) a few miles.

Thanks in advance.

Gap, Joesup, Corey... Y'all find that elusive PCM? :)

I'm guessing you don't like pressure washers? Trust me you couldn't hurt the paint on my truck any more than it already is. Maybe I'll be able to get it painted by the end of the year or tax time next year. I'll have to get a new hood first... . no way in HELL am I spending good hard earned money to repaint a damn stock hood! :-laf

By the way that lincoln looked great after a soft rinse from the pressure washer, then a hand wash with diaper clothes and another soft rinse. :-laf

Oh and I wouldn't call that extreme blowby I'd call that a problem! :eek: :--) :{

HA! That's funny! It's hard to find something that's not there! After about five hours of Joe and I looking for the blame thing, we got confirmation that we were not crazy and that there is not a PCM!

What a day!

So, whats the verdict? Are you happy with transmission after all the drama?

Time to update the signature!

Oh yes! I am very happy with the transmission. Many thanks to you Gap and Joe! You two will never know how much I appreciate it!

Just so that you all know, my truck has now doubled in value because THE Piston Slapper helped install my new Goerend Brothers transmission. Oo.

I will be putting up some pictures eventually.

Cory

Somebody help your Uncle Andy out...

I KNOW someone posted a $65 price for benching a p-pump at one of the local pump shops. I think it was Scott... I CANNOT find a reference to what shop that was to SAVE me. Any ideas?

I did see where Scott was quoted $1000-1400 for flow testing and setting the timing. That seems ridiculous.

I can't remember. Hepp me please.

Andy,

The shop I've been dealing with is Taylor Diesel on Elm Hill Pike. I don't remember who it was that posted the $65 figure, but he wasn't from around here. Taylor and Diesel Power quoted me around the same $1000-$1400 price on removing the pump, benching it, re-installing it, and setting the timing. That also included rebuilding the pump. I think if you take the pump to them it runs somewhere around $125-$150 just to put it on the bench and tune it. If it needs parts is when it gets expensive. I was going to try to have mine done next week but it's got to wait a little while longer.

Scott

Alright my good folks. The much anticipated wait is over. Here is a picture of the new GB transmission. It is a very beautiful piece and you may have to sit down... it is that remarkable! Ok... here ya go!

ok ok ok... that was a shameless attempt to plug Joe's new pride and joy. He is so excited about his new jack. I just had to throw it on here, along with the shop dog! HA!

Cory

Here's a few more pics if anyone is interested. This just goes to show you the huge difference between stock and built trannies. The first picture is of the stock torque converter. The second picture shows the Goerend Brothers torque converter. The third picture is the beautiful billet flex plate.

Just thought I would share!

Cory

That's some Piston Slapper paws too on that flex plate!

Funny story, I was in Waverly yesterday. Guy comes up beside me in a dodge dually. Rolls down his window and says "Are you piston slapper?" I said "yeah". He said "you worked on my truck, thanks!" Gives me a thumbs up and smokes away pulling a trailer with cheerokee in tow. I was floored, cause I didn't even know the guy... . I later found out I did know him. Funny story anyway. Waverly knows the Slapper! :D
