Mark,

Tell Brent I said hello. I've known him since kindergarten, but lost touch since high school. See if he wants to come to the meeting. I think he has a grey dually Dodge.

Anthony

Anthony you are correct on the dually... ... its got a TST box and an ATS transmission. He loves every chance he gets to drive my diesel. When I asked him today if he drove it up and down the road after the detroit install he kinda laughed and :D real big and said yeah I stopped traffic for a moment. :-laf

I just laughed and said you took off in 2nd gear and punched it didn't ya! :-laf

He just :-laf and said "man..... that things fast! :-laf :-laf :-laf

He stopped dead in his tracks when I mentioned your name though... ... said y'all grew up together, but hadn't seen you in forever. I invited him Sunday but he said that's his only day off and the last thing he wants to do is discuss any type of vehicle. You outta see some of the stuff he builds though! :--) I will get some pics tomorrow! ;)

Fuel Psi

Replaced the lift pump this morning. Fuel psi so far does not drop below 9-10 psi no matter haw hard you run it. Hopefully this will take care of my low psi problems.

Joe's new 98 12v got detailed today. Thought I'd post a pic or two. She turned out real nice.

Before

After

We even had like a mini TDR meet on and off all day. Gap showed up and hung out for a while, Dale showed off his new Haisley twins (sweet), and BigPapa came by, shook hands with everybody and hung out for a while.

Everybody kept asking the same questions... . "So Andy; you find you a truck yet?"

"nope. " LOL.

Andy, would you be interested in a duallie, there are 2 of the for sell in hohenwald, a white 99 QC 2wd and a red QC 4x4, can get the nubers if interested so you can call or maybe get hans to check them out

Great looking truck Joe! Welcome to the properly valved crowd. Good job Andy and Feger! Them boys worked HARD!

I thought I'd walked into one of those Spike TV restoration shows. It was something to see. Andy and Feger were swarming around that truck in wet t-shirts with buffers slinging every kind of polishing compound and wax you could imagine. Joe said they even rubbed her down with clay. Every once in a while, Andy would run over to his car and pull out another bottle of magic potion and Joe was walking around wringing his hands in anticipation of getting it on the lift to install those 17" 3rd Gen wheels wrapped in some new Hancooks. :D

I hate I missed the Piston Slapper. :( I get to see him some days when I go to Joe's to hang out for a few minutes.

Hey Andy, I saw a cool looking 1st gen in Lavernge for sale. Extra cab and lifted too! Did not have time to stop and see how much though.

Well, the white 2WD isn't for sale anymore. That belongs to a guy I know, and he's decided to keep it. The injector pump is out on it but I'm going to be replacing it this week for him and installing a set of Don's injectors in it. :D

The red one has been through several hands lately. It belongs to a local guy who got in a lot of trouble years back for running a chop shop. Needless to say, he's a convicted felon now and I wouldn't buy a bicycle from him. :-laf

Thanks for chiming in hans, I knew if anyone knew about those 2 trucks you would, Didnt know Bates decided to keep his truck thou.

Thanks Eddie

Anyone know of a place close to us to have an oil analysis done ? The dealer here is trying every way they can think of to not do one on my truck. I`m 99% sure it has a cracked injector, but getting them to do an injector leak down test is seemingly impossible. They maintain that some diesel in the oil is normal, but the truck is 1-1. 5 quarts high after 200 miles on an oil change. :-{} Mileage has gone from 19-20 down to 11-12 and it has no top end power. Anyone else have an idea what may be going on with it ?

Cookeville. Look up Fleetguard up there. I'm pretty sure they do analysis.

"Some fuel in oil" is certainly not enough to change the mileage or performance numbers. They're chain yanking.

Good luck with a dealer fixing it. They'll use every excuse under the sun to weasel out of warranty and then charge you 6x price if they do fix it--and that's a big honking "IF". :-{} Might be cheaper to buy six new injectors.

*note--Not _every_ dealer is that way, just _most_ of them. Kinda like lawyers, plenty of good ones--but the only ones that get any press are the snakes.

Kinda hot out there in the sun. Now back to the bushhog. :p

I think all Cat dealers do samples. I have done several on my truck at the one in Lavernge. It is a well spent $10.

Speaking of $10, I just went through emissions! What a joke! Put the ECM back to stock and passed no problem. That's with 150HP injectors! :-laf The Smarty keeps a fuel calibration error so I had to go stock. To any 24V guy's , if you don't have any codes you passed. No sniff test!

On the newer trucks, they just hook up to the computer and get the codes. On the older trucks, they do sniff your pipes. They did mine and it is a 1999. Passed with flying colors with the DDTPM and Mach 3's. Not even close to failing. Tried not to make a big smoke cloud when I pulled out of there.

Who the heck is JSykes??? :-laf :D

Hey Jay!

I've run the 95 through Lebanon testing twice. ALL they're looking at is "idle haze". 10 is the permitted opacity reading. Mine read 0. 1 both times. First time they didn't check both pipes. Second time they did and apologized for the extra time and all.

16 degrees, #10, 370's, big turbo---doesn't matter if you don't haze at idle.

I wonder what mine would read on a cold morning, cold start... ;)

Oh hey, you computer guys should start asking for a "no fault" mode (in the aftermarket electronics) for emissions testing. That'd be handy.

JAY! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?! LET'S HEAR IT! :-laf

Wade - there's a "half power" mode on the Smarty. Marco says the truck will not smoke at all when that program is loaded in and that it would be great for emissions testing. I've never even tried it on mine.

Whaddup Jay! How's life? Good to see you're still looming around!

Guys, I'm sort of considering a 99 that Gap found me. ~100k on the clock.

QC/LB 4x4, NV-4500. Two things bother me about it:

1. 24v (53 block?, VP44?).

2. Engine miss sometimes when hot.

My first thought on the miss was VP going south (which I'm okay with, the price is right). But doing some searching in the 24v forum, it appears that the miss is quite common and doesn't neccessarily have to do with a pump laying down. Some people talk about the problem surfacing AFTER a VP replacement. I dunno, I'd like your thoughts on that. I haven't heard it run he bought an Acura TL last year, and never drives the truck to work anymore). He's wanting a megacab and is contemplating selling. I may or may not have the opportunity to buy/pass on the truck.

We work with the owner, but I don't know him (123,000 employees... I'm bound to not know them all. lol).
