Pulling street class (no diesel class that I know of) after all the gassers as usual. Got the word some local fords, that beat us last year, was talking trash about beating us by 3 ft, before we even started really tinkering on Ol Smokey, will be there. Anyway. . We are gonna represent just to put a stop to the Ford craze in my area. Nick and Mike are also gonna represent. Looking for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to be Dodge, Dodge, and Dodge! Little do they know we have added a 150 - 200 horsepower since then!

That are also having Pedal tractor pulls and Pedal tractor races for the kids 12 and under. Supposed to start at 5:00 p. m. Taking the boy to get him a hook! See ya'll there... .

P. S. Would love to see Meacham get another hook with the turbo plumbing fixed. Little bird told me he busted a head gasket again... . sorry dude:{

Grinders Switch

Gap..... looks like my whole family is wanting to go:D ... hopefully my wife will see why my truck "needs" more power after she sees Smokey:cool: I'll try to get there about 4:00 Sat... if I can get them dang women to get a move-on.

We'll be there about 5:00ish. They said they was starting the pedal tractor pulling and pedal tractor races at 5:00 p. m but would be doing them during the truck pull too. Wanna see my boy pull that little sled! If he don't chicken out. He still gets nervous in front of people. I forget his age cause he is so big sometimes.

Look forward to seeing ya!!

Hey Wade, did you ever find a source for box steel? I'm going with Miter's on the next truck hidden behind the cab, and I want to make some "self-draining" one's but can't afford R-T's setup.

what page? i've been missing a lot.

I posted about a pull 20 miles from me and being "invited" by the ford guys, next day I hear that yall are going to the Hickman pull.

Pull it till they wave a red flag.

My truck still needs a u-joints, pump, ladder bars, stacks, turbo, transmission leak and oil leak fixed---but I do have tires and wheels to go on it.

And then I've got to Preporate the red truck.

Put axle seals/bearings in Bubba's 96 yesterday, putting brakes on Sisters 00 today.

in my spare time.

Hey guys, Need a little help please.

I've got a friend of a friend at the dealer with a 99 24v with 90,000 miles. Truck runs like a CHAMP. . However!:

It's idling at around 1300-1350 RPMs, and the dealer claims it's the Injection Pump, and wants $1800. He left the dealer and went to another local diesel shop. They also claimed injection pump dead as a result of dead lift pump.

There are no gauges, and no BOMB's. Totally stock CTD.

To date, both pumps have been swapped out for new ones, and a new TPS/APPS has been installed. No change in behavior has been noticed. It just stays in high idle or higher.

So can anyone help diagnose this? I've tried the 911 forum, and the 2nd Gen forum. No answers.

Thanks for any help!

Andy

I figgered you had. I asked about a switch, said he didn't know. Whadda ya mean by throttle linkage exactly? Stuck, or broke or something?

Thinking maybe linkage binding, or stuck. ??? I said it wasn't the pumps from the get go... . What was them guys thinking? Maybe MAP sensor? Reading more air than what is there so it's over fueling. IAT sensor... only thing other thing I can think of without seeing it or driving it. MAP, TPS and IAT are the the sensors looked at for fuel delivery. Could be any of them lying about something. Which leads to the High idle switch, being forced to lie!

didn't think that the 24v had linkage. all elictirc if i am not mistaken.

mark, not gonna make the ivy bluff pull. going to stanford on the 8th of july. to many road trips burns a man out.
