It's the problem that wouldn't DIE!
So I pull the pillar off again, find that there is a soldered wire pack that has a bare (un-taped) spot. I figure it must have been pusing against the metal of the "a pillar" or something. Of course, while looking at the wires, I notice that the fitting is leaking diesel in the cab... . there was #2 pooling in the lower recess of each pod. Nice, glad I had bare electrical wires, and raw fuel in close proximity... So I get that fixed, and put back together. Starts blowing fuses again. I pull it all back apart, fix the kink in the boost hose that I created...

... re-tape all the wires, and re-assemble the pillar assembly. I open the hood to check everything one more time, and notice that the fitting at the pump is now leaking... :{ ... (too much yanking and twisting I suppose). after I dry my eyes, and finish creatively chaining adjectives together, along with cursing everyone I know and their mothers, I fix that... Check everything again, fire it up, everything's looking great... .
... until I start down the road. I tear our of the drive with reckless abandon... pedal to the floor... until I hear what sounds like water and air gushing from a faucet at unbelieveable force. This causes me to immediately release the go pedal. My stomach sinks, as I imagine the fuel spraying from the pump or hose fitting. I pull off to the side, and inspect everything. It all looks good, so I return home scratching my head. Best I can figure, it must be the braided line vibrating against some peice of metal somewhere, and rattling the gauge.

It sounds AWFUL! I'm about to go BACK out and start trying to diagnose that. Anybody got any suggestions as to how to make it stop?
Sorry for writing all of this, but it seems to be theraputic to "whine" it all out on paper.
Back to work.
