Ok where is everybody!?!

Still here, just too busy to do anything. Got 5 gal of ATF, new Leveling Pucks, Fuel pressure gauge plumbing, and NO TIME.

I'm being lazy on the logo too. Nothing to show yet... :( soon though.

So you decided to keep the 3rd Gen Andy? Cool deal.

Glad to see most of y'alls is still doing well!

I just sent my check off today for my SBC DD. Looks like I will get it put in when I go visit some buddies in Ohio here in about two weeks. Oo.

Hey Wade... ..... after talking with Gap for 30 minutes the other night... ... I think Red's coming to give ALL OF US a run for our money!!... ... and sounds like he's gonna be passing Nick on the way as well! :--) :{ :-laf

I didn't say that! We just try'n to catch up! We got alot of potential components. Just try'n to figure out how to get them all to work together and working where you need them too.

Totally different animal when you get up in to th craziness. I can remember when 24 degrees of timing was radical.

We dyno'd the truck on a big ol Semi Truck dyno... we made 800 Fly Wheel horsepower and 513 RWHP when the turbo blew... . Kenworth dealership techs were in AW! Said he's never seen a "little" truck do that. Said we was putting down the same numbers as a 550hp twin turbo'd CAT motor. It's a 3 stage Dyno that'll load in stages. Stage 3 is 80,000 lb simulated load. It pulled the motor down pretty good when in Drive and we couldn't keep the turbo lit on stage 3. We stuck her in second gear and took off again. Red would normally say "o. k. " and the dyno tech would "load" it another stage. Red was saying "load it" he said " I already did!" We was TACH pegged, 2nd gear, stage 3 loaded and the turbo farted. Ol Smokey was white smoking like a wet leaf fire and blowing oil all over the place. It was blowing oil out of every orifice it has. The dipstick tube looked like a 3 yr old with a cold. Lucky it was just the bearings went out in the turbo and it blew the side cover off the block... We shot the turbo and the exhuast manifold with a lazer temp gauge and they both pegged the gauge... ... ... 2500 degrees!

More news later... (made my nipples perk again just typing this!)

P. S. Still running the stock auto transmission! :) I am amazed at that still!

Just ain't right

Gap and Red having all this fun while I'm sitting here waiting for something to screw up so I can USE my warranty.

2500*... . hadda been frying the oil as it entered the bearings

With 800 fly HP, it seems too low to get 513 RWHP. Even 25% drivetrain loss would be 600HP... . your losing about 36% to your wheels... can transmission be slipping?

Awesome truck and a great description

Maybe we need to form a chapter meeting for Red's next dyno day :-laf

( try bandaids..... it's what I use to avoid peek-a-boo nips) :D

I thought it was off too... If Nick will chime in here, he can express another opinion on this particular dyno. It is a mean machine... loads heavier than a sled I think!

I am sure the transmission is slipping. We expect to pick up some horsepower w/ the winter time transmission upgrade. And fine several more with some more tuning. We just got her together and running. Haven't had time to tune much yet. We had to cut our fuel back too.

About the oil burning... we immediately dropped the pan and cooked up some hot wings!! They was alright... a little after taste though.

great dyno at the old kw dealership. it will load your ass. that is for sure! the only nice (LOL!) thing that comes with all of that power is the ability to break a lot of *****! if you need a second opinion ask mike. lol! can't wait for next spring. off to school in georgia for a week, later

Well I talked to a good prospect tonight. Was coming outta work and there was a brand new FLAME RED club cab 3500 DRW 4x4. Its a 04. 5 6spd, and its a great look'n truck. He's got some lightned bed rails so it shouldn't be that hard to spot, but the first time I ever saw it in Gallatin (maybe just never noticed it before).

Right off the bat we started talking mods... . probably cause he's already running a Edge EZ and a straight pipe! :-laf

I gave him the website address, and told him how to get into our section here so he can at least see where were going to be, and what we will be doing so if wants to come join he can. Didn't even catch the guys name *DOH* His ear's REALLY perked up when I mentioned truck pulls... ... he said "y'all pull around here"... ... told him twice a year @ Ivy Bluff, once @ Lebanon, and then another one over somewhere around lebanon :???: Maybe this guy will be around, hell maybe he'll join.

If your reading this guy, my name is Mark and I work @ that Wal-Mart so feel free to stop and talk Cummins anytime!

turbos turbos

Well, I swapped the turbos back around. Dodgezilla is back on the "red" truck. That truck sure does make the green one feel puny--or is that "Sickly"? Saturday I pulled the DZ and reinstalled the OEM+14cm on the puller--then I fired it up with the oil filter off. Oo. Two gallons of Rotella at your feet instantly. No harm done. Sunday I put the DZ back on the 24v---and lost a gallon of Amsoil when it blew past the return line gasket. So it's good and oily around my shop.

City Diesel is building a bigger turbo for the 12v. My "mystery" pump is supposed to be on the way. There will be a 215 pump on it next year if I have to buy another one. :-{} Suspension mods and new tires are also on the list.

I'm going to re-do the spindles on the 24v--back to original. The older brakes ain't good enough for that thing. I'm also going to try to level it out some. But before I do any of that, I have a fuel delivery system to work on. My first attempt at mounting it didn't work out. So I've got some more fabrication to do--as well as the plumbing part. Then we'll get the video cameras rolling and do the dyno thing. More as this story develops.

I walked into my local DC store and demanded a discount like Tenefly Chrysler (NJ) gives--and got it! The parts guy is okay, he comes to the pulls.

Gotta find out when the MTPA meeting is so we get a class. Need to come up with some rules. I'll need some ford input on that. Want to make two classes, one for dang-near almost stock, and one for the rest of us. Street Diesel Limited and Street Diesel Open.

The white flatbed ford (2 turbos-Ryan Bean) had a bad camshaft. It was walking and causing sensor problems.

In the meanwhile, I've had to assume a much larger role in the family business--so ya'll will see me up Lebanon way much more. And I won't have nearly as much free time. The fishes can relax.

Two words for Red and Gap: Sun Coast.

And what in Hell is wrong with Ohio?

Fastest way to get in touch with me is my cell 615 542-1957.

Looking for good used laptop, must have CD for backups.

Tell me more about the KW dyno. Can we run a bunch of trucks on it? cost? January meeting maybe?

Dyno day!!!! Oo. Yeah, looking forward to that! We ought to get together at Hooter's again just to BS and hang out.

The new baby will be hear within a few weeks!

I dunno if you'll wanna strap your truck down on that dyno... It's a BIG UN. Gap said they loaded it to 80K lbs before they popped the turbo on Ol' Smokey.

I think I'll keep my truck on the sidelines on that day.

BTW, I raced a guy here at work yesterday. I was really suprised at the results. Both trucks mechanincally stock (cept for my AFE).

His: 01, QC, LB, 4x4, 35's, 3. 52 gears

Mine, 03, CC, SB, 4x4, 31's, 3. 73

Rolling stomp, we were pretty even. Dead stop to 90, I had 7 car lengths on him. Given the 80HP differentail stock, I thought I'd walk away on him.

Congrats again on the baby Steve. Mine will be here Friday (c-section).

Congrat's to you too Andy! Big changes in the house!

Truck is good but the fuel pressure gauge went out. Showing 25 psi even when truck is off. I need to find time to pull it and send it back to Geno's.

Help!!!!

My motor is NOT getting fuel!! Well at least not the amount it should be! :{

I dynoed last month and it was an embarrassment. 215 pump with 3K GSK, PDR 370's, and a OEM plate full fwd with the profile ground flat only did 263HP and 636TQ. :(

Plate has since been swapped to a JR Adkins "custom" plate.

I'm not getting fuel somehow cause I cannot break 1000* pre-(stock)turbo, and boost won't exceed 30psi. Truck is a dog off a rolling start, but from a DEAD STOP is quick.

I have a friend in IN with a 95 5spd with the same plate and injectors and he is FOGGING out the hwy, but the only smoke I have is from a dead stop and it clears up with the least little amount of boost.

I've been talking a lot with JR Adkins and so far I've checked the following:

Over Flow valve (replaced with spare OEM, checked spring . 500" long)

Fuel filter changed

checked fuel pressure (around 20PSI idle, only went up with RPM's)

and made sure solenoid arm was all the way up while running

Only thing left to check is my timing, but I haven't had time. The previous owner had some work done by Jeff Garmon, including the timing but he didn't know where it was set... ... and I've heard Jeff likes to time high. :(

Any ideas?

I AM STUMPED!!! :{ :{

P. S. Hey Wade... ... wanna do some timing Saturday? I'll buy ya a beer if ya show up! ;) :-laf

Congratulations Andy and Mrs. Andy... ... . fine lookin boy

Glad to see everyone is doing well.

Steve,

Ask your wife what the hold-up is..... Andy's got his, so where is yours :-laf

I *actually* spoke with Meacham Evins today!! :--)

And no he didn't crawl off in a hole anywhere! :-laf

Like Wade posted somewhere a long time back he ripped apart his OEM flex plate a while back(no NOT Meacham! :-laf ), and went with a billet replacement! :D

Also spoke with Terry Johnson today... ... he can't wipe the :D 's off his face and keep from doing this ---> Oo. if you ask him about his B1 turbo!

And for the select few that know him... ... who woulda thunk-it..... Joe Moran has a cell phone! :-laf

P. S. Congrat's to the new father's on the new additions to the Mid-Tenn Chapter Family!

Well

What are yall doin?

I'm driving the 24v as the 12v is grounded for brake problems. Thought it was on the front, but may be on rear. Ran out of time to check it out.

Blowhard keeps promising that a pump is in the works. I'm not counting on it.

Business: Closing one store and buying another one. Rent went up 22,000 per year at the closing location. Buying real estate at new one. New one is different line, but is in my "territory" and will be my operation. More details as this develops.

Having a real cash-flow will be interesting.

Ran into guy down the road in his PSFord the other night. He tried me. Then he tried again, and again. That ole 24v just kept running off from him.

:-laf Had the box on 3x2! I expect that he bought a chip or programmer and thought he was hot to trot.

Friend's son blew out the transmission in a Ram gasser p/u. Anybody have one of those handy?

Deer season Saturday--GIT yerself a BIGGUN! (TK and Mike). If you need a place to hunt, and are competent with a rifle, and won't shoot the small bucks with potential-- I can make room for one or two more out here.

I posted on MTPA: http://www.midtnpullers.com/index2.html Reply to show your interestl

AND CONGRATS to the DADDYS! Oo.

Wade,

Man thanks for the info on Meacham Evans. He got me hooked up with a new injector pump and she is running like a champ.

Oh yeah guys, got a free ride in the Meacham hot rod. Good Grief!!!!! is all I can say. Pinned me to the seat and was still turning the tires. Guess I better start getting more funds for my slow poke... . hahaha. Yes I will be getting Meacham to help with bombing mine for sure.

Wade, if you got room for a single hunter I might try to find some down time. Just let me know, I surely dont want to push anyone else out.

Many many thanks to you Meacham. You are "The Man"!

Looks like I'm getting a rhino liner... ... ... one of my friends is opening a new rhino shop in Lavergne and wants me to do some wiring for the booth. I told him I might take a liner as partial payment. Just not sure that I want one... but for the price (free), I don't know if I can pass.

Wade... I shoulda thought about your place back when I was taking my son to W. Nashville to squirrel hunt.

Yeah, work burnout... ... I need a beer... . or twelve
