Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

REAL cool. Great job hooking and not breaking.

Friendly competition. That's what it's about. Even if it does get $pen$ive. Maybe someday I'll get ready to put down enough power to break stuff. (fingers crossed that I don't break next hook)

I have pulled enough to see that reading the track and driving the truck can MORE than make up for lotso "dyno" power difference between trucks. That's how I'm going to beat Mark. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Stay at Wal-I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER Mark, that way you're not as much competition. :p

No, actually I applaud your every attempt to get a different job.

Thanks... ..... errr I think Wade. :p

Yeah I will be getting a little more in pay if I get this new job so you will REALLY have to worry about me next year! :-laf :-laf :-laf

Check this out guys I'm looking to buy a little beater car (toyota, honda, nissan) that gets ricer mileage (GOOD) for back and forth to work. I found a little rough Nissan for $400 with power accessories, CD player, auto & cold AC. Was and still am considering getting it. Buddy called tonight and he found me a honda hatchback 5spd ( ) for $300 but it has a minor issue.

Can y'all imagine me driving a car?? :-laf It will kinda suck, but $60 a week for the truck is put'n a hurt'n on me saving any kinda cash. :(

Oh I had been meaning to tell you guys about this:

I came across a bona fide moron the other night while I was vacuuming out my truck at the car wash. He was from Hickman County and was driving a lifted F-350. He's a younger guy and immediately walks over to my truck and wants to know what I had done to it. So after a few minutes of BS, he proceeds to tell me that Ford is coming out with a new diesel engine next year. It's a 7. 4L "dual turbo" (his words) that's coming straight from the factory.

LOL, I basically told him that he was an idiot in so many words and pretty much brushed him off. He told me "ok you wait and see" and by that time he had gotten a little too cocky and I had gotten pretty irritated. I told him just to watch those leaky injectors on his 6. 0 and he'll be ok. :-laf

He also tried to tell be about what you need to do to build an automatic transmission (like that's relevant to my 5-speed or something  ) and made a huge *** out of himself. I know next to nothing about automatics and had to set him straight on nearly everything that came out of his mouth. He also knew Gap's buddy Garreck and started in saying that Garreck dropped $6,000 on his transmission so it would handle 1500 ft lbs and that the truck would never do it. He then told me that Garreck only needed to have spent $2000 and he would have been alright.

What an idiot - I can't stand these guys that drive a $40,000 truck and think they know everything about a diesel pickup just because they've added a Bullly Dog box to their truck. I can't hardly talk to people like that - so ignorant.

IF ignorance is BLISS, then some folks should be REALLY happy. ;)

The more I DON'T say, the more the other guys think I actually know about diesels. The funny thing is that they think I know about all of 'em. I don't care nothing about them V8 oilers and am happily ignorant of what makes them tick. Bean keeps telling me, but my mind wanders. :-laf

Heck, I don't think he's totally opposed to the idea of a 5. 9 in his truck. Shhhh, I didn't say that.

Anyway, yep the know-it-alls make funny faces and walk away when I tell them that there's no CHIP in my pulling truck. If that doesn't do it, then P7100AFCGSKPLATELEVERADJUSMENT370'sDV'sB1, etc shuts 'em up. :-laf

uh huh. (in my best Slingblade form. )

Well, Well, Well... Just for the record. Not all of us from Hickman Co. are as stupid as Michael Bates..... I do know the guy. He is the big moron. Along time ago when I had a 6 plate and 3000 springs (and thats it)... I smoked him from a red light in dickson. He pulled me over and told me everything he was going to do to his truck. Thats when he had a dodge. ( stock automatic with gauges, and muffler removed. ) I didnt think much about beating a stock truck, but he made a deal out of it like I was talking trash. Well, I went on with my business, thinking " what a moron" . Then one day several months later he came over with another guy. He told me that he now had a box ( Edge Comp) ,and he could beat me. I told him that he couldnt. I had done stuff to mine also. Number 4 plate, bigger exhaust housing, 370's, delivery valves, pump timing, 4000 springs, Head studs, and a marine head gasket, an exhaust, and a fully billet DTT trans, and I had a positive traction differential. The guys he came here with told him he couldnt beat me. He tore his trans up, and bought a Powerstroke. . The one you seen him in. I seen him about a month ago, he told me he was going to beat me in that truck. I told him that he would never beat me in that truck. He then told me that he would hook hitch to hitch with me. My truck is a stock height 3/4 2x4. He has a lifted 4x4 dually... Thats what kind of a moron he is... . He works as a dump truck driver for Gary Bentley... . Next time I see him out... He might get about 300lbs of me on him... . I have heard just about enough of him and his mouth..... I mean I know he is stupid and will be that way all his life, but he dont know me well enough to talk trash about me.

Irp

What is everybody's plans for heading up to IRP. I know Meacham and crew is heading up on Thursday.

Who all is going up on Friday and at what time?

My truck got to spend the day with Meacham. It's like a whole new truck going down the road. It is amazing to be able to hold the steering wheel straight and actually go straight down a road. Too bad DC didn't design them to do this. Highly recommend the PSC steering box. Also, sporting one of them OFE's.

Gotta get her cleaned up for the big party at IRP.

i'm leaving friday morning. pulling about 1 hour east of indy friday night at vermillion (sp) IL. then after that to the amerihost inn. saturday am at irp, saturday nite at tampico and then sunday am at irp. should be a fun weekend. see ya'll there. nick

I'd go for the 5-speed if it's better mileage that you're after but what's the minor issue with it?

I drive a 3850 Plate Load Dual Disk 5spd everyday... . once in a while an auto it a nice creature comfort. ;)

In fact if I had known Dave Goerend existed last year I would probably be driving and automatic equiped truck with one of his Trannies! :{

The motor and transmission need to be replaced :D

Cute gapper! :p Actually I opted to not even go look at the Honda when I got up this morning. The guys said it had been lowered so I decided to pass on that one.

I'm gonna get the Nissan for $400. It has Cold A/C & CD player and it is coming from a mechanic friend so he will do me right. :D

DieselDork,

I remember that guy! I think I humped his dog once... :D It is really getting time for some Drag action... . still need to pull the pump off ol mans truck.

Most people who drive Fords just don't understand, really, they don't. I 'm with Wade, several have called me wanting advice on there's performance or maintenance. I take pleasure in telling them I don't know... or really just don't care!

Under the hood of a Semi Truck is 6 inline for a reason!

Got Smoke?,

Ain't nutting wrong with a auto... . I drive a Minivan back and forth to work everyday. "Who'd of ever thought of me driving a Minivan?" Who cares? They all call me Minivan Man here at work, but it's paid for and gets 23mpg, truck gets 15 and freaking diesel was $2. 25 yesterday!!!!. I'd love to have a diesel jetta if I was not built like a neanderthal man. Co-worker has one, runs high 40's mpg! It will bust 50mpg on the interstate.

Garreck - pretty funny how you could recognize who this guy was just by my short narrative! This guy must be one major jackass.

Hey if you do see him - tell him that 18 year old road w-h-o-r-e (won't let me type it) that he was over here to "see" is gonna give him something that Ajax won't take off if he's not careful! :--) :-laf :-laf LOL - he's already paranoid about her - he wanted to know if I knew who all she had been with. I asked him if he was in a hurry! :-laf

Heck, my 24v has gotten 22mpg--with the box in lowest settings and a hen egg taped to my right foot.

VW diesel p/u. Small slow, almost zero power to the ground--but 40-50 mpg.

Buying a VERY cheap beater for fuel economy isn't too bad an idea, but some idiot called Dave Ramsey wanting to buy a new car because it gets 5 more mpg than his current ride. Yeah, the difference (depreciation, interest, etc. ) works out in about 500,000 miles.

I'm calling a lunch meeting Friday July 1st.

Lets try somewhere other than Hooters @ Harding Place. Can we shift it around to another part of town? Just trying to stir more interest. I don't want to come in too much closer, 'cause the guys from the boro have far enough to drive already... not to mention Hans' drive!

What about an after work meeting instead?

I know this is on the heels of IRP for most of you, I just want to keep the momentum up.

At this short meeting, come planning to discuss our next big event. We had one in January, I say we have one in August. We need to plan some activities. Plan on bringing someone in to talk tech, or something...

An after-work meeting would be great on my end. Would be kinda hard for me to leave work for a 4 hour lunch break. :-laf

Friday the 1st is fine with me. ;)

As for small diesel pickups, I found out last night that my 'suzu is putting down 58 hp at 4300 RPM and has a peak torque rating of 93 ft lbs! :D I'm still working on that thing - gonna get started on the body/paint after IRP. I'm hoping that I will be able to coax this one into getting over 40 MPG when it's all said and done!
