Clayhill Truck Pull, Atwood TN

Ol smokey transmission is shot. Clutches are burnt to a crisp. Waiting on new prototype TC from Goerand to get her back together... again.

Truck pull at Clayhill Motorsports, Atwood, TN (in west tn, about 2hrs from Nashville, 3 mile down the road from Reds) has been rescheduled for Oct 1. We'll be there!

I'll call Daniel and tell him to check up on this thread. Sorry to hear about your transmission troubles Gapper, but I'm sure Daniel would LOVE to know how long that thing actually lasted and through how much abuse.

Andy, any luck with the check engine light?

Actually yeah. I went out to leave, and it was gone. Go figure... .

Thanks for all your help with it. Same goes for everyone else!

Trucks got a few (A-HEM... ) fingerprints all over the fenders from people leaning in to get a look. :D

Hey guys - sorry I had to miss the meeting. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone. I had planned on finishing up the turbo install Saturday morning but it turned out to be more of a job that I thought it would be. Working alone wasn't much fun - that was one of those deals where I was wishing I had a 3rd hand the whole time. :-laf After I got it done, I had to hit the sack. I was running on about 8 hours of sleep over the past 3 days. :(

I got it done around noon or a little after and everything seems to be doing fine. It's pretty impressive - I've already been taking folks for light joyrides. Figured I'd try to break it in a little first before I really let her rip. Of course, I won't be able to say it was worth it until I get it on a dyno - I'm gonna do some checking on that in Memphis this week. I'm hoping for dang close to 450hp but I may get disappointed. I may not know as much about these things as I'd like to think I do. But after doing some conservative math, I think I should be there.

The truck drives just as good as it did with my 1. 6s and the stock turbo. No smoke unless I want to and the turbo is spooling well. So far, I think this is a pretty good match of injectors and a turbo. Temps seem to be staying under control but I really haven't let it out yet. I'm really anxious to hook to something, but I may have to wait a while. I'll be stuck in Memphis for several weeks.

Oh yeah, Project Isuzu is coming along! My cousin Todd got the body and paint done while I was at school and it looks amazing! He even sand-blasted all of the frame that he could and painted it, and also cleaned and painted the wheels. I've still got a few more things to button up but I hope to have it back on the road within a couple of months.

Oh yeah, I may have a 4" MBRP (Dpp) exhaust system for sale soon. I'm thinking about going to a 5" system. I think I could probably handle it now.

The MBRP system is 409 SS and it will look brand new after I clean it up. It also has a 5" polished SS tip welded on. And of course, it has the HX35 downpipe. If you hear of anyone needing a good 4" system, let me know. Haven't thought about a price yet, but I'll do some thinking on that.

After even more thought - does anyone here have a 5" system (besides Wade)? Comments on it? Would I lose any noticable power on the low end?

I just kinda want to try something different - thought it might sound cooler. Either that or I'm gonna have to go to a straight pipe. It's almost like that turbo made my exhaust quieter.

Hey I saw Red today pulling into the Love's truck stop at the 87 outside of Jackson. He was in the black 12V (that's 'Ol Smokey right?) and he had two other people with him. I was pulling out as he was pulling in and I realized it was him just as he was passing by.

He probably didn't remember me from January but I think they noticed my truck. I wish I had gone back and talked to him but I was on my way to Memphis. I hollered at him on the radio but he didn't answer.

Sorry to post so much! I've had a lot going on!

ol smokey is a 95 white reg cab lb with 2 6" miter cut stacks

... and them 6" miter's is L-O-U-D in that std cab truck. I don't mean noisy either... . I mean friggin loud!!! Before we wrecked the trans last week, I thought my eardrums would burst.

Although, that prolly ain't nowhere NEAR as loud as Nick's puller with the stack through the hood. :)

Ahhhh ok - I figured they would have stacks on that truck and was wondering how they had it running so soon. I saw where Gap said the transmission was trashed.

Oh well, I saw Red today in his black 12V daily driver. :)

I don't know how the rebuilt it as quick as they did! She's running though. Rode in it last week!

Hey everyone,

I need to find a 24-28' enclosed trailer, rear ramp door, 10K GVW, prefer white in color, new or used but new condition.

I would like to trade even for a 1992 GMC, 3500, 350 motor, manual trans, 2wd, standard cab, in good shape that was my Dads truck.

If no trade I would sell this one outright. Just contact me if interested.

Hohn's <---SWEET!,

It wouldn't have matter'd if he remember'd you or not, he'd of still talked like he did. The black ones a pig. 96 12V Long Bed #6 plate, TC slipping, truck gross's 10k all the time, welder, tools and crap. It is a great testimant to this trucks. They are working trucks.

Ol Smokey is the white one, Puller and play toy. Waiting on a TC from Goerand and we'll be done. . until we break it again.

The more and more that I work on these trucks I realize they are still trucks. The newer ones are drifting towards the pretty and away from work. I hate that, but I really believe they are a much better built "truck" than a Ford or a Chevrolet.
