Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Thanks Nick, true Hohn's, we'll be pulling in atwood,tn. It's a grand total of 3 miles from Red's house. Would love to see all ya'll. Was hoping to make Michigan City this year, but this is the 3rd time this pull has been rescheduled and this is the only weekend we could get the sled.

Mark, your lag time can be improved w/ that turbo. Our is a 55 hybrid too, but has been ball bearing'd, fins clipped and housing honed and polished. it'll lite 1,600-1800rpm.

You can have a street performer or a sled puller. Hard to have both. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

Snipe, Did joe give you the round tires? He must have been fresh out of square ones. I probably got the last set! Joe's a diesel dork, really great guy!

if the truck has so much as a straight exhaust i will give him round tires :-laf :-laf :-laf

Lmao!!!

They are diffenately the round ones!!! The pull in Atwood is one the first? That would be closer to me than Shelbyville, KY. We will have to all meet up somewhere and do a road trip out to it, I'm willing to drive Mark, what time will it start, I will need to get Shannon to get off work early depending on that. She usually works until 4-5 on Saturdays. Let me know.

Mark, are you for sure going up to KY or would you go to this one in Atwood? Lemme know man.

Joe, Piston Slapper was the one you were telling about that has Ole Smokey, right?

I have a question, is M Evins on this site too. I talked to a guy today at Nashville Dodge right after he spent like $2100 getting his 95 12V fixed, I gave him his number and told him to give him a call, told him a little about this site and to check it out. Heck, I knew more about his truck than he did and I don't know a darn thing about the 1st Gen's. I think that he might have been a little light in the loafers, but he still has the truck that needs fixin every so often!!! I haven't seen Evins on here, but not sure about screen names either on most of you guys. Just a question to put out there.

sniper, Gap=Piston Slapper. Red is my daddy. His truck is Ole Smokey(dedicated pulling/play truck). Me(Gap), joe(Underwood Squaretire) and Garrick (DieselDork) built the motor in it and done some transmission work. It'l Ole smokies first pull with the new motor. The pull in Atwood, TN is my daddy's(Red) hometown. The pull is 3 miles from Red's house. We'll be going there before the pull. We'll prolly get to Red's early afternoon on Saturday.

... and if you search long and hard enough, you can find Gap's explanation of how he got his name (gappy)...

Man, that's been a while ago. Back when the group first got started. I'ma go see if'n I can find it... .

HERE it is... way back in June of 2003... seems like just yesterday...

Oh O. k. Here we go... My name is Jimmy Brian Arrington. When my mom was little she fell down on a merry-go-round and chipped her front tooth. She got it fixed and it fell out. She got it fixed again and it fell out. She left it then. "I'll just be gapped toothed" Bunch of friends of mine were over one day(first time they meet momma)riding 4 wheelers and dirtbikes . After we left the house they started calling me "Gappy" and "Snaggle" all day being funny. Next day at school everybody is calling me "Gappy", being funny. It just kinds stuck and I have been "Gap" every since. Me and mom both thought it was funny! She had "Gappy" engraved into her bowling ball and on her bowling shirt at the time even. We all took it kind heartedly and I am just "Gap" now. Everytime I run into an ol school friend I here "Hey Gap, How's the tooth?"

Whatever..... that's my story... .

Where's the sled and how do you get this hitch installed on a Caravan?
:D

Hey Gap - depending on where I'm at that weekend, I may end up abandoning the Michigan City pull and go to Atwood to watch you guys. I've yet to see Ole Smokey in action. What kind of turnout are you expecting?

Don't know yet. I'll post and let ya know Hon Solo.

Me and Underwood Squaretire will prolly end up hooking too. You know how it is. "Naw, I ain't pulling" I'm gonna set the bench mark for a bone stocker. Wife'll kill me, but oh well. Then Joesup P. Squaretire III will say, "I ain't gonna be the chicken or I can beat that, What a girl!". He'll have to see how much more his can do... . show off.

I'll see if I can dig through take off tire pile and find some round ones to pull on... .

Diesel Dorks Unite!

Gap, the most I know about Dickson is from going to Joe's yesterday. Where are ya'll gonna meet up at? Also, I will check with Shannon tonight to see what is going on with her schedule and she what she wants to do, it's been forever since her and I have been out of the house together, so she will probably be all for it. I will just need to get some directions or meet you guys if I have enough time, it's about an hour or just over for me From Gallatin. Thanks man!!!

Here's my gauges. A buddy at Tennessee Sheet Metal cut the plate for me from aluminum. I cut the holes in it with a hole saw and a dremel and bead blasted it. The angle ring for the pyrometer was made from a PVC pipe coupler. The boost gauge angle ring is from Autometer. I need some black screws for the pyrometer and the screw holding the plate on the left. The hole on the left will be covered up with an interior/exterior thermometer this weekend.

I don't want to dump that much $$ into it after already buying it. Machine time isn't cheap at all either. :(

Check your PM's.

Here's my guages.

That looks KILLER Scott!!!! I love it! Gap is a big ISSPRO Guy, he'll get a kick out of that pyro. Where did you find that?

That set-up is well thought out and expertly impelmented. Good job dude!

Andy

Andy,

Thanks for the compliment. I picked it up on eBay for cheap. I think it's made for a dozer or some other heavy equipment with the flange mount that it has. It doesn't have the amplifier (?) box that the 2" has.

Scott

BigPapa, Like them gauges! Especially that big FAT one. That thing is straight off a school bus :D What did the gauge mount replace in the dash? AC vents?

Sniper, "Diesel Dorks" is a quote from my wife. Garrick(SmokinDieselDork) called my house one morning before we left to go to Dyno day at 6:00am. My wife gives me the phone and says it's one of your Diesel Dork buddies and throws me the phone. He heard her and thought she was ****** at him for calling so early. We was already awake, We all got a kick out of it. We've been Diesel Dorks since!!

Dickson is 1hr 20minutes (90 miles) from Red's house or the pull in Atwood. Joe shuts down his shop at Noon on Saturdays. We'll probably leave shortly afterwards and head down there so we can tweak on the truck before the pull. Prolly gonna pull Andy's 100 plate out if the truck is still there and take it with us as a template to regrind us one or use his to try in the truck. Get rid of some of that excessive low rpm fuelage. Gonna be a few of us meeting up in Dickson area to ride down. Don't bring you truck if you don't want to pull it. It'll make you REALLY want to hook, once you see a few pull! "I wonder what mine will do?"

Maybe we can get Andy's fixed by then? Hook'r up!
