Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Anybody ever fool with one of these older G-360 Getrag 5-spd, I believe I've got a bearing going out, I've developed a whine either out of the transfer case or the slush box, can't really pin it down, but its just started in the past week. I changed the oil in it when I 1st got it over to synthetic 5w-30 mobil 1 overfilling by 1 qt. Just changed again 2 days after the whine started, also tefloned the fill and drain plugs as they bothe like to leak on one of these transmission's. Same on the transfer case. done it the same way.

Great RF stories...

Back in the day when I was running CB...

One night we tied a 4 foot flourescent bulb to my antenna and drove around watching it light up. :-laf

Then, another night (without the light bulb), I pulled up to the ATM for some folding money and was yapping with someone on the CB--I happened to be looking at the ATM at the same time I keyed and talked. The whole screen blacked out--and stayed blank.

Had to go find another ATM while hoping they didn't review the video on that one. ;)

FTR, that setup was a Cobra 29 with RK56 mike into a 100w TS driver pushing a TS 500 into 102" whip--cuz the fiberglass jobs would get soft or stolen.

Then I got a ham license and have had WAY more fun and less garbage than ever possible on the CB frequencies. Be glad to get anybody started down that path. PM or EM would be fine. You can look me up on QRZ.com--callsign: W1ADE, wife is K4MZP, her mom KF4GKN, her step-dad NY4T and on and on.

They are sharp I just wished now I got me one of those orange ones for myself, the one I got is for my oldest nephew who has joined our ranks. Thanks Andy. Wished we'ed had another option for the little tikes as my little man is only 4, probably be 6 before he can wear that shirt I got'em, :-laf

Hey, is there some super-secret technique to priming the fuel system on a 24v?

My 3rd Gen would prime itself, my 12v had a plunger you could pump a thousand times, but I had to crack the #1 line to get my 24v to crank after a fuel filter change last night.

Thankfully I only had to crack one line. Which brings me to the question: How the heck do you get #2 loose? I was going to go ahead and losen it while I was doing #1, but couldn't get my wrench in there on the nut.

I tried the bump starter twice and let the LP run, but I think all that did was push the air from the filter housing into the inj pump and lines. I did not prefill the FF canister with diesel (maybe I should have).

Andy,

Loosen the fitting on top of the filter that goes to the vp. Then bumo\p your starter and let the lift pump work. The air should bleed out at the top then you can tighten the fitting. May take a couple of tries. If still no luck, your lift pump maybe weak.

Anthony

Hmmm... Thanks Anthony. I talked to Feger this A. M and he said he usually has to bump about 5 times before trying to start. That sounded a little excessive to me. I'll try your solution in 10k miles.

Wade's truck looks too clean. Musta been taken before he got it! :-laf

Andy, Just bump the starter and push in on the schrader valve near the VP. I think all 24V have it. You should not have to loosen the lines going to the injectors. But you do have to take the air intake off to get to the 2nd one.

Oh, that was a few miles ago. I really need to get some more current photos up for them to choose from. And submit for my three 100,000 mile badges. Greenie is almost to 200k. Red one isn't far behind.

Another priming tip-especially good if you didn't pre-fill the filter. Open the water drain valve and bump the LP until it pours out there. Also when priming a 12v loosen the bleeder screw on top of filter housing. #2 Fuel is a Parfume. :D

Hey Guys

Just a hi to all back at Mid TN from somewhere near San Diego CA, another road trip. Did a Clinic last night and one of the guys has a trans shop out here, asked him where he was from and he hails from TN near Knoxville, small world. Off to Idaho this weekend, more customer visits next week in ID and SLC UT, then back to SC.

Now Wade, just whare did you hook up that flourescent tube and why? Oh forget the why, it is Wade after all!

It was to illustrate via illumination the RF energy being transmitted by the radio equipment. Simply hold a flourescent or maybe even neon near a transmitting antenna and you might be surprised. I think just a few watts would light one of those itty bitty tubes. Didn't have access to a 96" tube, but that might have worked as well.

That's why there are new FCC rules about antennas and such. That RF is going into your head too. :D

Anybody interested in a black Hurst shilfter ball with the 5-speed pattern on it? It's been tapped to fit our shifters and works fine. I mounted a sentimental old cue ball on mine and don't need it anymore.

Scott

PM or e-mail me your address, -- email address removed --, and I'll throw her in the mail. Did you ever come up with a price on that sport bumper?

Nawp, plum forgot about that Scott.

I'll get back on it.

Shipping address is right here at the antique mall. 3389 John Bragg Hwy, Woodbury-37190. Thanks

Here's one for Gary. Dang dog got too up close and personal with a polecat last night and now one of the trucks smells kinda funny and done washed her off, but hits still fairly stout in there. I don't really smell it much anymore, but have been gittin some funny looks.

I can give you some hints on cleaning it, but not too sure that you'll be able to follow simple instructions if you were dumb enough to let a sprayed dog IN THE CAB.

Where to begin?

Wade, Andy got it pretty straight, how did Fido get in the cab anyway?

Next ones would be if it is the green customized cab, this would be a great opportunity to hose the WHOLE cab out, head to NAPA and buy a case of them Pine Tree hang tags, hang a piece of PVC pipe and spread them X-Mas trees out like them hangy down things you see in certain ethnic trucks, change em once a week and voila! stink gone!

Road report Provo UT, just above freezing this AM, snow on the mountains, got to get into southeast ID today, but there is a Cabella's about 30 miles north of here, got to see it. Driving I 15 from CA, NV, to a corner of AZ went through a river cut canyon, WOW what a sight? Drove through Las Vegas, first time I have seen it from the road, mostly been in the convention center for SEMA and airport runs.

Hey Wade, is this dawg ready for upgrading or is it a hunting keeper?
