Meacham. I have attempted to be fair and as honest as possible to you. Yet you refuse to return my phone calls, or factually back up the false claims you have made about me in this public forum. I have given you more than ample opportunity to make right on these false claims.
The purpose of the TDR is NOT to promote Meacham's, Joe's, Cory's or anyone else's businesses. That is a fact. The purpose is (In YOUR words): "These forums were set up to support people wanting to know more about their trucks, what can be done to improve their trucks, and to support the growth of the diesel industry. ". That sir is EXACTLY what I do here. Look back at my posts... not just the Mid-Tenn ones. I attempt to assist WHEREVER I can. Which one of you attackers can say the same? I'm not talking about someone coming to your shop and you helping them out... I'm addressing specifically what you said about the forums. . I have many many posts to this forum, assisting, advising, connecting, and generally helping others solve problems and find sources. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw you help someone out here in the forums (if I've ever seen it at all).
Why would I have reason to talk bad about you or your shop (OR Joe's shop); and Meacham, where is the PROOF to back up your accusations? You have been a friend to me for several years. I have looked up to you and have recommended your shop for SERVICE work where appropriate. I was one of the guys that recommended CottonJ up to your shop to have his ball joints repaired RECENTLY. I sent a vp44 job to Joe JUST a couple months ago. Outside of that, I have had no other opportunity to promote your services. I've not spoken ill of either of you. Anyone who has told you otherwise is lying to you. Last time I was in your presence, we were laughing and joking, and hanging out like friends. Why did you let rumors and gossip change that? You've asked others about me, but you have never asked ME about me. I ask why that would be and anyone else reading this should do exactly the same...
Since when did Cedar City Diesel make its living selling parts from Diesel Performance Parts? Your shop is set up with some WICKED AWESOME equipment... but most of it's not for the "plug-n-play" go fast parts that Diesel Performance Parts sells. You have a huge Hunter 4 post alignment rack, a new digital Hunter alignment machine, a Hunter Road Force balancer, a couple two post lifts, tools, huge miller mig, a big miller plasma cutter, and the list goes on. Since when do you NEED those things to make a living installing gauges and plug-in performance modules? Underwood Tire is a TIRE shop that expanded into a tire and mechanical shop, and they install parts purchased from Diesel Performance Parts as well. As far as I know, the room off the side of the office has only a handful of "go-fast parts". The garage on the other hand is burst FULL of tires, lifts, tire mounting machines, wheel balancers, fluid, weights, and tools. I've been in hot-rod shops where a living is made by making horsepower. My FRIEND Dennis Perry at TS Performance comes to mind. No tires in that shop unless they are wrapped around wheels and bolted to a fast truck. I think that it is unfair of you to blame me for sending my friends on this forum to a place where they can get good prices on "plug-in-parts". If my Edge box dies and I HAD bought it from Cory, what kind of "service" is he going to provide to me? "send it back to edge"? "Take it back to Meacham"? "Send it to me, I'll swap it out"? I can get that kind of "service" anywhere. I've only been mistreated by ONE go-fast-part-vendor in my four years of hobbying with Diesel power. Why should I be forced to spend my money with them? Especially when it is most likely such a small part of your business. I can't get tires installed over the internet... I need REAL service from someone I can trust. Wouldn't you rather have my money from tire, alignments, road force balances and other personal and trained professional services? Any monkey can pull a performance chip out of a box and plug in the pigtails. There's no "service" in that business. That's all Low cost, high margins and high volume. Diesel Performance Parts is a wholesaler/distributor/re-seller/retailer. In MY OPINION, there is no SERVICE to ME the customer that is provided by them. The SERVICE comes from the installation and support of said product. I like to install my own products when I have the knowledge, tools and know-how. If I need warranty support, I'm going to talk to the people who built it. I don't need a middle-man who only served to hold someone elses product until it was purchased by a shop, a vendor or me, to stand between me and the people who can fix my issue. You ever eat at Cracker Barrel? Can't you get arguably better food from a HOMETOWN Mom and Pop restaurant? But many people still eat at Cracker Barrel because it's known GOOD; it's REASONABLY priced, and widely available. I eat there, and I LOVE IT. That doesn't mean that I also don't patronize smaller individually owned restaurants as well from time to time. Why did Joe stop purchasing go-fast parts from Dickson auto parts, a SOLID parts house that also re-sold diesel performance goodies? Most likely because he stood to make more profit from a large distributor like Diesel Performance Parts. I could easily fault Joe for taking his business away from a small hometown vendor like Dickson Auto Parts. I however do NOT fault Joe. His shop is generating extra revenue by re-selling and installing "go-fast" parts. Good for him. I hope that it's a profitable value-add for his business. I'm sad that he deals with a company that treated me poorly when I've had such good experiences buying from him when he dealt with Dickson Auto Parts and Diesel Manor in the past.
Bottom line, I had a bad experience with Diesel Performance Parts. I have the right to share my experience and recommend another company to my friends. "I" did not identify them as being the offender in this public forum, until the prior sentence, YOU and CORY have. If Diesel Performance Parts wants to blame someone for the horrible press they have recently received, they need to address those concerns with the two of you. Rather than engage in what has become a child-like blame storm, said company has resorted to slanderous behavior rather than sucking it up and attempting to make it right, or simply leaving it alone as it is my right to post and other's right to read. So unless you have substantial evidence leading to or directly proving me wrong, you may now lower your blame pointing finger and go about your own business.
I realize that this is offensive, however it is all fact. I am disappointed that those that KNOW the truth aren't stepping up in my defense. You people know me. I have worked very hard for all of you, and you are idly standing by allowing me to be burned down. You all keep speaking of something being wrong with me, and something changing. How can you read these direct attacks and libel accusations, and not understand that in the same situation, your attitude would certainly change as well. As I stated above, you've asked others about me, but you have never asked me about me. I ask why that would be and anyone else reading this should do exactly the same…
If some of you want to argue opinion beyond this point, then I am out. If you want to debate facts, quantifiable facts, then let me know who's next in line. I have presented the facts here. They are undisputed. My calls to Meacham, to talk through the issues one-on-one, have gone unanswered.
Meacham, I've clearly indicated that you acted upon these false statements w/o ever investigating; again I still thought we were friends. Joe, if you can't see the light and trust me, the facts, and the proof, then I'm not sure what to say here. It pains me to have to be so pointed to two people that I have called friend (Joe and Meacham), but I feel you have left me with no choice.
If you all want my time, then you win, because you've certainly taken that. If it's my character or my reputation you're seeking, then step aside because you've chosen the wrong battle.
