Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

What size fuse are you blowing Scott? LED's draw very little amperage (as I'm sure you know), so it's suprising to hear what you're saying. I've got some 20 and 30 amp relays... We can throw one of those on and see if that helps. Otherwise, you'll (or we'll) just have to start tracing wires. Electrical gremlins are no fun.

Cory,

Did I pass you on Briley Parkway this morning around the Wave Pool? Grey Dodge pulling a grey trailer. I was in a black 2nd gen with a TDR sticker on the rear window.

Anthony

No sir Anthony, that wasn't me. I stay on the same ol' beaten path everyday on I-40 to I-65 then Harding. I think if I crank the truck up and point it in the right direction, the truck will drive itself because it's so use to it.

I hope you weren't flipping the guy off or running him off the road thinking it was me! HA!

For the record... I have no association with a Holiday Inn.

Cory

15 amp fuses. This light has some sort of circuit board in it. I know it's the LED brake light. It's unhooked and everything's fine now.

Opryland Hotel tried to put us up at the Holiday Inn Express 10 years ago on our honeymoon when they didn't have my room I had reserved for 9 months. I forced 'em in to the Crown Plaza downtown. If I had only known..... I could probably be as smart as The Slapper!:D

See ya'll tonight.

Scott

Scott, I would be happy to assist you in running a dedicated fused line from the battery to a SPDT relay and then wiring the relay to the brake light and the LED light. That would take substantial load off your brake light system.

Thanks Andy. I don't think it's a load problem. I've been running it over 7 years and 200K miles. I think it just went bad and caused the meltdown.

Scott

yeah, I suppose if the board went bad (shorted out or what-have-you) that it could certainly have caused an overload. Put a meter on it and wire it straight to the battery. See what it's pulling. Or just chunk it and buy another. LOL.

Meacham. I have attempted to be fair and as honest as possible to you. Yet you refuse to return my phone calls, or factually back up the false claims you have made about me in this public forum. I have given you more than ample opportunity to make right on these false claims.

The purpose of the TDR is NOT to promote Meacham's, Joe's, Cory's or anyone else's businesses. That is a fact. The purpose is (In YOUR words): "These forums were set up to support people wanting to know more about their trucks, what can be done to improve their trucks, and to support the growth of the diesel industry. ". That sir is EXACTLY what I do here. Look back at my posts... not just the Mid-Tenn ones. I attempt to assist WHEREVER I can. Which one of you attackers can say the same? I'm not talking about someone coming to your shop and you helping them out... I'm addressing specifically what you said about the forums. . I have many many posts to this forum, assisting, advising, connecting, and generally helping others solve problems and find sources. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw you help someone out here in the forums (if I've ever seen it at all).

Why would I have reason to talk bad about you or your shop (OR Joe's shop); and Meacham, where is the PROOF to back up your accusations? You have been a friend to me for several years. I have looked up to you and have recommended your shop for SERVICE work where appropriate. I was one of the guys that recommended CottonJ up to your shop to have his ball joints repaired RECENTLY. I sent a vp44 job to Joe JUST a couple months ago. Outside of that, I have had no other opportunity to promote your services. I've not spoken ill of either of you. Anyone who has told you otherwise is lying to you. Last time I was in your presence, we were laughing and joking, and hanging out like friends. Why did you let rumors and gossip change that? You've asked others about me, but you have never asked ME about me. I ask why that would be and anyone else reading this should do exactly the same...

Since when did Cedar City Diesel make its living selling parts from Diesel Performance Parts? Your shop is set up with some WICKED AWESOME equipment... but most of it's not for the "plug-n-play" go fast parts that Diesel Performance Parts sells. You have a huge Hunter 4 post alignment rack, a new digital Hunter alignment machine, a Hunter Road Force balancer, a couple two post lifts, tools, huge miller mig, a big miller plasma cutter, and the list goes on. Since when do you NEED those things to make a living installing gauges and plug-in performance modules? Underwood Tire is a TIRE shop that expanded into a tire and mechanical shop, and they install parts purchased from Diesel Performance Parts as well. As far as I know, the room off the side of the office has only a handful of "go-fast parts". The garage on the other hand is burst FULL of tires, lifts, tire mounting machines, wheel balancers, fluid, weights, and tools. I've been in hot-rod shops where a living is made by making horsepower. My FRIEND Dennis Perry at TS Performance comes to mind. No tires in that shop unless they are wrapped around wheels and bolted to a fast truck. I think that it is unfair of you to blame me for sending my friends on this forum to a place where they can get good prices on "plug-in-parts". If my Edge box dies and I HAD bought it from Cory, what kind of "service" is he going to provide to me? "send it back to edge"? "Take it back to Meacham"? "Send it to me, I'll swap it out"? I can get that kind of "service" anywhere. I've only been mistreated by ONE go-fast-part-vendor in my four years of hobbying with Diesel power. Why should I be forced to spend my money with them? Especially when it is most likely such a small part of your business. I can't get tires installed over the internet... I need REAL service from someone I can trust. Wouldn't you rather have my money from tire, alignments, road force balances and other personal and trained professional services? Any monkey can pull a performance chip out of a box and plug in the pigtails. There's no "service" in that business. That's all Low cost, high margins and high volume. Diesel Performance Parts is a wholesaler/distributor/re-seller/retailer. In MY OPINION, there is no SERVICE to ME the customer that is provided by them. The SERVICE comes from the installation and support of said product. I like to install my own products when I have the knowledge, tools and know-how. If I need warranty support, I'm going to talk to the people who built it. I don't need a middle-man who only served to hold someone elses product until it was purchased by a shop, a vendor or me, to stand between me and the people who can fix my issue. You ever eat at Cracker Barrel? Can't you get arguably better food from a HOMETOWN Mom and Pop restaurant? But many people still eat at Cracker Barrel because it's known GOOD; it's REASONABLY priced, and widely available. I eat there, and I LOVE IT. That doesn't mean that I also don't patronize smaller individually owned restaurants as well from time to time. Why did Joe stop purchasing go-fast parts from Dickson auto parts, a SOLID parts house that also re-sold diesel performance goodies? Most likely because he stood to make more profit from a large distributor like Diesel Performance Parts. I could easily fault Joe for taking his business away from a small hometown vendor like Dickson Auto Parts. I however do NOT fault Joe. His shop is generating extra revenue by re-selling and installing "go-fast" parts. Good for him. I hope that it's a profitable value-add for his business. I'm sad that he deals with a company that treated me poorly when I've had such good experiences buying from him when he dealt with Dickson Auto Parts and Diesel Manor in the past.

Bottom line, I had a bad experience with Diesel Performance Parts. I have the right to share my experience and recommend another company to my friends. "I" did not identify them as being the offender in this public forum, until the prior sentence, YOU and CORY have. If Diesel Performance Parts wants to blame someone for the horrible press they have recently received, they need to address those concerns with the two of you. Rather than engage in what has become a child-like blame storm, said company has resorted to slanderous behavior rather than sucking it up and attempting to make it right, or simply leaving it alone as it is my right to post and other's right to read. So unless you have substantial evidence leading to or directly proving me wrong, you may now lower your blame pointing finger and go about your own business.

I realize that this is offensive, however it is all fact. I am disappointed that those that KNOW the truth aren't stepping up in my defense. You people know me. I have worked very hard for all of you, and you are idly standing by allowing me to be burned down. You all keep speaking of something being wrong with me, and something changing. How can you read these direct attacks and libel accusations, and not understand that in the same situation, your attitude would certainly change as well. As I stated above, you've asked others about me, but you have never asked me about me. I ask why that would be and anyone else reading this should do exactly the same…

If some of you want to argue opinion beyond this point, then I am out. If you want to debate facts, quantifiable facts, then let me know who's next in line. I have presented the facts here. They are undisputed. My calls to Meacham, to talk through the issues one-on-one, have gone unanswered.

Meacham, I've clearly indicated that you acted upon these false statements w/o ever investigating; again I still thought we were friends. Joe, if you can't see the light and trust me, the facts, and the proof, then I'm not sure what to say here. It pains me to have to be so pointed to two people that I have called friend (Joe and Meacham), but I feel you have left me with no choice.

If you all want my time, then you win, because you've certainly taken that. If it's my character or my reputation you're seeking, then step aside because you've chosen the wrong battle.

Wow, I'm gone working out of town and all this trouble has been brewing into a mud slinging contest, somebody get that SWITCH were gonna line up some bad boys and stripe there legs good like Granny use to do :-laf, Cory I didn't know that was you under Bling-an-smoke. Anthony, that pump make good power? When are we going to try to get together? Who wants to host a meeting? I'm lazy, I still haven't put my studs in yet. I'm almost done in KY, getting close to being home all the time again. Lets think about a gathering. I'm not trying to be pushy(I really am a pushy BAS$#@D)but we need to get together more often, helps get away from day to day grind, even though our hobby is a job, its still fun, so lets get together, Hooters, etc, think about it. Everyone be nice :), and no, nobody knows me much, HA HA. :-laf

Quite a scare yesterday AM! The truck was parked to the right of my wife's Jeep in our driveway about 10' from some cross ties at the bottom of the drive and my shed @15' past them. Drive is downhill fairly steep. Started the truck to turn the AC on and set the parking brake. Walked around to open the hood on the Jeep and heard my parking brake pop off. Truck took off toward the shed. I don't know how but this old fat man made it around the Jeep, opened the truck door, grabbed the steering wheel and pulled myself into the cab enough to get one foot on the brake and stop the truck before it pushed my 10'X20' shed down the hill into my pond! I WILL be doing the mod to the parking brake this week!

Scott

Wow Scott! That is scary. That happened to me once when I had my Trans Am, but it wasn't on that big of an incline and there sure wasn't a pond waiting for it at the bottom of the hill.

I'm impressed there buddy. I bet you haven't moved that fast in a long time. Are you sore today? Ha. We'll be seeing Scott at the front of the Music City Marathon next year!

I can see it now:

"At the next TDR meet...come see the Piston Slapper and Big Papa (the winner of the Music City Marathon) LIVE singing Kum Ba Yah! You won't want to miss it!"

Cory :-laf

Scott, you can not stay away from trouble latley:-laf Maybe thats how I need to get into shape. Let my truck start rolling down hill and have to chase after it. :) I am just glad you stopped it in time. Of course you have all the parts in the bed to fix it even if it did hit. ;)

Are you sore today? Ha.

Remember the "fat old man" part. I messed up my left shoulder, pulled something in my right calf, and messed up 2 fingers on my right hand. I should be thankful I didn't roll under the rear wheel of the truck. Also put a good dent in the door of my truck and transferred a bunch of maroon paint to the silver front fender of the Jeep. At least now it's 2-tone. :-laf

Disclaimer: This stunt was performed by a tired old fat man. Don't try this at home!

Kdp

Long distance diagnosis is that our 1997 3500 suffered the KDP failure. I have searched for info, found some, any comments from the Mid-TN gang, advice. The truck is just outside of Charlotte NC at our ZOOM office. It has not been opened up yet, but oil is on the ground, noises,

Just talked to one of the fellas at the Fair. We've had a little over an inch of rain this week so far!Oo. First rain we've seen in over 6 weeks. Anyway, the pull is still on for tonight, barring rain tonight. They're going to leave the track packed down until after lunch hoping to shed as much rain as possible this morning and then break it up and pack it back down before the pull. If I here anything else I'll post.

Scott

Congratulations to Chris Newsome! 1st place at Springfield at over 300'. Congrats also to Joe with a 3rd place at 266', 5' behind a hot 12K lb. Ford dually from Dickson. Disappointed that we didn't get to see Ol' Smokey and The Slapper. :( Joe and Barry finally got Brad out to a pull. Good to see everybody. See ya'll next week at Dickson.

Scott
