Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Thanks, I looked around for a while last night and this seems like an AWESOME place for Cummins guys.

From what I've gathered my best choice for my first purchase would be a set of guages. The truck is on its second automatic (that was put in before I bought the truck) and its got almost 170,000 on it.

Someone from around here could probably help more with this. The stock exhaust is straight piped right now. I've got to put the truck through emissions in July and I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with the exhaust that way going through emissions or not. (I live in Davidson county) If not, I'm willing to add an exhaust system if I have to before then. If I do, I'm trying to figure out which one to go with. Is there any advantage to a 5" over a 4"? And what brand? I'd like to go with a full stainless system because durability should be a lot better than otherwise I would think.

I guess that's enough of my rambling. Looking forward to hearing from some more Middle Tennessee area guys.

Welcome LKuilder! Do you live in Nashville? Where do you work? I live in Springfield, about 20 miles north of Nashville and work at America's Motor Sports in south Nashville.

Speaking of new guys, I haven't heard anything out of Bikeshopdude in a long time. You still hangin' around?

Hey,Big Papa. Are you going to Woodbury Tn. April 5th It will be good to see ya.

Barry, I'm gonna try. Shouldn't be a big problem, 'specially if I can hitch a ride. I'll have to work till around 5:00. Maybe one of you will be comin' through Nashville about that time. I'm anxious to see you and Joe pull with your new set-ups. Just wish we didn't have to sit through all those hot-rod gassers pulling. Oh well, just more time to visit. :D

i would suggest a tst powermax or edge juice with attitude

that way you get your guages and power all at once and you can have a lot better control over your power and exhaust temps. edge juice with attitude is probably the better of the two. several members here are dealers for these including myself, and joe underwood

I actually live in Nashville. The south part I guess you could say. As for work, my family has a racing team that I work on. Our shop is at my cousin's house in Brentwood / Cool Springs area. You can look at my myspace page (there's a link to it in my profile) if you have that to see more pictures and stuff about me working.

i would go with the 4 inch, 5 is bragging rights only

mbrp runs 352. 80, and we can install it if you like.

joe

So there's really no other advantage to the 5" over the 4"? And any reason to go with the MBRP over any other brand?

I've been looking at the Edge stuff now. Trying to find out which chip would be the best for me. I like the idea of an adjustable on the fly deal. I don't think Banks makes one for my truck but the more I read the Banks stuff isn't really all its advertised up to be. The only thing I'm trying to find out is if the Edge will give me any emissions problems?

Oh yeah, welcome Lkuilder, there is lots of learning to be done on TDR. Lots of good people here in Mid TN, with CTD's of course!

Thanks. I've realized that already and I've only been on here a day!

One more question for everyone... Where is a good place to find information on events here in the Middle TN area? And are there any diesel shops around in the area also?

Have you looked at the Quadzilla Adrenaline w/Pulse monitor? It is wicked. It is new and they are working bugs out but it is stronger than my tst comp/ smarty stack.

Thanks we will be traveling about 2 hrs i sure would'nt want to get there late . if you get a chance , check to see if the diesel trucks will pull last . thats the way its been most of the time

You just got advice on your exhaust from one of the best, Joe Underwood. He owns Underwood Tire in Dickson, about 30 miles west of Nashville. There's also Cedar City Diesel in Lebanon, about 25 miles east of Nashville. There's also Bean's Diesel Performance in Woodbury, down past Murfreesboro.

As far as information goes, your here. Everybody keeps us posted pretty well on the goings on around middle Tennessee.

Welcome LKuilder,

Looking forward to meeting you. You should come to one of the pulls. That's a good place to find us and see different mods. on trucks. I hear there

is a FAST truck in Dickson. Haven't seen it yet though. :-laf

Hello all I'm in Henderson just south of Jackson. Anybody know if Gary Matthews Auto in Jackson,TN has a good, knowledgeable diesel mechanic. That is where I bought my truck and don't really know anything about the service dept. The salesman knew nothing about diesels but was very easy to deal with and went out of his way to help me when buying my truck. Don't really want to hear horror stories unless I need to, just want to make sure they can meet my warranty needs if I need them to.

there are other exhausts out but we have not found one that fits as good as mbrp

Joe

Sorry, was just wondering if there was anything better. When I get some free time and I'll try to head out to your shop sometime.

I'm going to try and come out to the pull in Woodbury next weekend. Where abouts in Woodbury is the pull at? I've been out there before scrounging through a few junk yards out there so I know where Woodbury's at just not sure where the pull is at.

Still lurking here.....

Hey Scott,

Overworked and underpaid as most I guess. We are open 7 days a week so off days are sporadic at best. LKuilder, I have a 4" turbo back now and a Fass fuel system as well as the edge with juice and work at the Cool Springs Suzuki shop so if you would like to see em in action welcome. Ive had tons of great advice here and am available for a little help if ya need it. I had a little trouble with a few of my installs and just did em 5 months ago so can help steer ya around the dangerous curves. (unhooking fuel lines from tank, tap for the exhaust gas temp and a few others that made me lay on the cardboard for a few too many hrs) This is hands down the best site I have found for solid info and I look forward too meeting everyone. Maybe we can carpool to an event as it sounds like you are close to me (South Franklin) been dying to see a truck pull. New guys have to bring the beer right?

I'm back

Sorry haven't been around. Many other things going on. And had problems logging in here.

Raced at Columbia last weekend (mountain bike). Miserable muddy mess. I crashed early in first lap and quit at the half-way (9 miles). Was going to race NC this weekend, but it looks wet and I'm not muddin' it again for a long time. So I'll be around for my backyard (Mooretown) pull--after I close the store.

$500 free cash money for anyone sending me a buyer for this place.

I really need to get started on the bike biz... and am slowly.

24-valve still for sale... dammit. Drove it yesterday--dangmentation it drives sweet. :D

Jammed the hood down on the Red truck on March 7. Got it unjammed yesterday--the day after I ran the batteries down. Seems that the safety release catch was stuck or pushed up when closed and that jams the safety catch in front of the cross hickie. Peewee of Hibdon's Auto repair came out and helped me get it open.

Hey, I need somebody to pickup a bicycle in Memphis and tote it this way--be glad to meet you anywhere east of Dickson. ;) Is Hans still going to school?

Oh and there is some activity going on across the street here. Looks like the beginnings of Bean's new place.

Carry on.
