Wade I was wondering if I make it early could I be one of the first ones to go, My cousin was the driver of the car that drunk driver hit and killed early monday morning on 65 N. , his funeral is at 3:30 in whitebluff,TN I would like to come over and meet yall anyways even if things get busy early on, as they say theres always next time. Le me know

Wade can you bring your FP gauge to the dyno Saturday? Wuz wonder'n if you can 'lend' me your gauge, and I will get it back to you ASAP. Thanks. I have a buddy with a 02 3500 that's starting to act up in Gallatin, but he's almost positive he cannot make it to the dyno that day.

I'm thinking that its lift pump replacement time, but she's only got 55K on the clicker! :-laf ... . let dodge pick up the bill on this one!

Paul --they heard about the time you hooked. ;)

Chris --we'll put you on as early as you get there. Sorry for the loss.

Mark-- 24v LP's almost never display drivability issues BEFORE they cook the VP44, but I'll swap you the gauge for a holesaw.

Yall-- I'm still trying to get fuel pump ready...

I dunno..... had a buddy with a '01 2500 and it started running kinda ruff. Several people (including me ;) ) told him to replace the lift pump, he got one from Cummins Cumberland and said it ran like a raped ape again! :-laf

Thank's the swap is a deal! :-laf

spool 'em up

I lost a post there, nevermind.

Food options. Bring some, or we'll take up some money and send it to town for a bag/bucket/box of something. It's about 12 miles to town. The shop offered to do a BBQ run for us :D Now that's service!

I'll bring a case or two of Sodi-pops. Ya'll bring a chair, a truck, fitty bucks, camera, video, etc.

OH and I got word that they're installing an exhaust system. Must have made an impression before. Hope they thought about twin 5" stacks!

I DID NOT get the Preporator mounted. Bracket came out too tall and no time to fool with the plumbing and all that jazz. Next week or so I'll run the darn thing.

I did install another goodie from City Diesel.

shhh. ;)

partial report

I saved my piece of melted hose. Yeah, I blew a hole in it too.

I ran off and left the full scoresheet at GF's house. I'll publish a complete report tomorrow sometime.

Dang that was fun--AGAIN.

I hate that we didn't get some good numbers on the the hot pullers.

Robert, something ain't right on yours. First I think you need to check your fuel pressure down at the VP. You'll need a tapped banjo or one off a 2000-2002. Anyhoo, I made 473 with the DD version of your box, DD3's, HX35/40. I'm running full-flow fittings-no banjos and can pull my FP down to 5psi and get 45 psi boost--wastegated to

that.

Of the readings we considered accurate--Meacham put down 490/1123 and I put down 473/1040. :D

SEE YALL back on the Mid-TN roundtable.

Wade those are some good numbers on your truck and I agree with you on my problem. Banjos are next on my list along with making sure I don't have a boost leak.

Let us know if you find out why we couldn't get any numbers on Nick and Mikes trucks.

Robert

I got a whopping 385HP 924TQ... ... ... DAMN INTERLCOOLER BOOT! #ad
#ad
#ad

Then we found my ever illusive mileage problem!

After I made my first run (351HP  ) I was setting up for my second and when I hammered on it Shane (one of Meacham's friends) started hollering "boost leak"..... we got underneath the truck and sure enough my turbo to intercooler boot @ the 'cooler is like a balloon! Its all stretchy and wore out and chaffed from the inner fender. #ad

Oh well one of our great members and personal friend Meacham Evins offered me his factory boots off his '02 since he has to have HD boots for his twin setup! Thanks again Meacham you saved me a bundle!!Oo.

Hey just to say I had a great time Sat. and wish I could have stayed longer, nice meeting everybody, look forward to our next meeting with a great bunch of folks

Dyno Report Mid-TN TDR March 04.

First, we had a splendid day weather wise--until the thunderstorms showed up. :( Then we had excellent numbers--until the "wild thangs" got up there. Then we got done about 7pm and I hung around with the shop guys as they loaded drag cars. An eleven-hour day for me at the facility. :p

Well they were testing an exhaust system for the dyno room, and it will work--with proper flex tubing. They had the landscaping stuff on there yesterday. We melted lots of that stuff. Some of the trucks didn't melt it, and smoke was greatly reduced--indoors anyway. ;)

We had one stock CR run and had nine BOMB'ed street trucks and two genuine bring-it-on-a-trailer Pullers. Oo.

The dyno is a Mustang 1750. It has computer controlled, electric, locomotive brakes and can simulate a 20,000# load.

We loaded most trucks to 6000. I tried 6000 and 5500 (all my previous runs had been at 5500-the new software for the big loads was acquired FRIDAY) Result was same HP and 6 more FP torque-not an issue.

We lost the optical RPM sensor after the 5th truck. They manually calibrated thereafter--not a problem with gearbox trucks.

Then put the pullers up there and couldn't get a reading. They tried various loads--up to 12,000#, different RPM's, etc. Something was just out of whack with the EXTREME SMOKEY ONES and we didn't get valid numbers for them. The guys at Delk Performance are working on it.

Post them photos and videos! :D

Oh, and note to self--take a towel and some clean clothes for the ride home next time. Blackened BOMBer anyone?:-laf

Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the event happen. And thanks to the fine folks at Delk Performance for putting up with our smoke once again. Yeah, they've seen smoke before, but I don't think they've seen anything like Nick and Mike were putting out.

Okay enough dribble, here's the numbers:

We had 19 folks sign in and 12 dyno.

In order run:

1. Garrick Jones 323/842 12v

2. Chris Knott 451/883 CR

3. Jonathan Thompson 251/583 12v (slipping auto)

4. Paul Hassell 275/508 CR (stock)

5. Shane Dillard 388/965 12v

6. Meacham Evins 490/1123 12v

7. Nick Hayes ? 12v puller(dyno error)

8. Mike Rhodes ? 12v puller(dyno error)

9. Robert Thorton 401/967 24v

10. Ken Whittaker 313/849 12v

11. Mark Harris 385/925 12v (boost leak)

12. Wade Patton 473/1040 24v

Notables not in attendance: Meacham's 24v-being twined, Allen Stoner-drag racer, Red Arrington (Gap's dad).

Hey everyone,

Sorry I could not make it. Sick daughter and wife had plans... . next time! (I hope)

I need to get with you sometime to talk toys and tricks. I guess that means I need to leave the money at home then huh... . :)

we had a great time at the dyno day. i guess that'll be the last time my old truck sees a dyno. lot of stress on the old drivetrain. lol! i hate that we couldn't see some acurate numbers though. that i would have liked to known. great to see ya'll again. hope that we can see all of you at michigan city, ms. april 30 and may 1. i was asked saturday which nite would be the best to go. it's hard to say... . if no one breaks friday nite, saturday will be the best nite. if a bunch of people break, then friday may be the best night. damn, hard to say... ... . wade, the deal with having a 2 night pull is: if you are going to ask people to drive 7 or 800 miles to pull. one night isn't worth the hassle. the open boys and anyone else need a reson to come to a pull. we offered $500 added to the pot for both nites. i hope that they all can come. i know that eep, schieds and haisley's are planning on coming as of now. should be a great pull. hope to see all of ya'll there. later, nick

I would like to see the following re-match on the dyno:

Meacham "Twins" Evins

Mark "Boots" Harris

Nick "Dyno Overload" Hayes

Red "Workaholic" Arrington

Think we can arrange this in about a month when Meacham gets the white truck back in action?

Jay

I'm game for a rematch! I replaced my lower intercooler boot on the passenger side tonight, as well as checked all the clamps and they all appeared to be a little loose. Oh well I only have myself to be  at for not checking them! :(

On the way home the truck seemed a lot more peppy, and throttle response was more crisp and boost was WAY UP THERE to easily! Will figure out more tomorrow as I was bringing home a free weight bench in the bed tonight and couldn't play very much! :-laf
