Competition dual rear wheels vs single rear wheels on a dyno?

Competition 13.63 @ 98.06 video now up...

From Enterprise Engine:

High Performance Camshaft:--)

Twin Turbos:--)

High Flow Delivery Valves:--)

Good start, all I need now is more rpm, more turbo and more fuel.

Oh yea, it blows the boots off at 84#

Gene

and the wife says "ever since you been down at the Mitchell's all you ever think of is that truck"---

I'm envious---do you guys upgrade the transfer case, driveshafts, diffs and axles when you start bolting on this fun stuff----

now let's see if I bolt on another B1 or two---ah hell I'm going to have to drop in another motor in the bed to keep up with you guys:D... ... I guess we won't hear from you for a couple of weeks--that's at least how long it'll be before you come out of the truck... ... chris

Chris, the only thing besides the clutch is the HD input shaft.

The rest is stock Dodge.

Go to Mitchell's site, he has listed the parts that croaked, most of them held up extremely well. It was mostly bad things happening that broke stuff. Like when a sled hammered the brakes on him because the driver was skeered!

That is what ripped the stock Dodge hitch in half.

Considering we are lucky to be at half the power Mitchell has, hopefully if we use our heads a little, breakage should be minimal.

just what I wanted to hear.....

Gene,

This couldn't have come at a better time. Tell us more about what kinda cams Dave has. How do they compair to what DD is selling? Everybody jumps on the DD wagon, and for good reason, but Enterprise is one of the best kept secerts on the east coast I think.

Andrew

Their is no comparison to the cam I got and the DD cam. There is so much lift, they had to notch the pistons. They were ground to do different things. So it is not fair to compare the two.

I know they have others, but I didn't even ask at the point I was at. I wasn't racing light to light, I wanted power at 4000.

Dave can build any thing you want, from overhauling your stocker to, well, you know what he does!

Dave wanted me to run this cam because of the high rpm blasts at the track. I was very concerned with streetability, and he had to twist my arm for a week(bully) before I finally agreed.

I should have listened to him from the get go, because it pulls from 1600 rpm until?? I don't know where it peaks, but the word "scream" describes it well. We keep running out of room and blowing boots off!

Very, very streetable, I would say the entire set up is better than my old set up to drive. Cruising at 1900 in fifth, just nail it and hold on, VERY responsive.

It goes up through the gears better than before, really no loss of botom end power that I could feel.

After we get it wastegated next week, I will be able to tell you more how it drives.

As far as best kept secret, maybe in the TDR world, but be careful about choosing Dodges to race back here, there is too dern many Mitchellized trucks around!

Keep in mind that Dave uses the pulling track to test components for the street, a lot of his customers are hot shotters looking for cool power for the mountains. They have to have durable, streetable parts.

Gene

Gene, how high are you going to rev that motor?do you knwo how high Dave's truck is at?When you said "Right now your lucky to be at 1/2 the power Dave is at",was that a joke,or are you serious!I would thin kyou would be within range of Dave's truck,Im sure he wouldnt let you get with striking distance of him,LOL. Well congratulations on a seroiusly strong truck!,Are you going to dyno it?

Serious as a heart attack.

I would like to pull at 4000, I don't know if I have the fuel to do it though.

I still have stock 370 injectors, and the only thing on the 180 pump that is Daves, is the Delivery valves. I need a 215 pump to make real power, and then some major internal mods to it to even start thinking about Daves level. Not to mention bigger turbos.

I had to stop spending at some point.

Rumor mill says there are guys building IH DT 466 pulling tractor engines to try to get to Daves level.

The Scheid pull last year was the best demonstration of Daves level vs. everybody else.

Piers built a custom street/ race plate for me, I dubbed it "PIERSIFIED", or perhaps the Plate #1000? Or #4000? Ever see a TST Number 4? Doesn't look anything like it. (Piers description) And then Piers gov. kit, after that nothing is different in the pump.

I will dyno after I get it wastegated, don't expect any big numbers, with the fueling I have, and the streetability I was aiming for. But I will be able to use every bit of it without melting the engine. Oo.

that's what I mean.....

Gene,

That's what I mean, everybody JUMPED on that DD cam thread the other day, and yet there is only what, 9 posts on this one?

One day I want to get a Mitchell Cam, and would do this if I lived a little..... ok a LOT closer. :D

Andrew

Maybe because they think Mitchell builds only pullers.

Maybe because they believed that "Spy" report about dyno numbers a few months ago!LOL!!

I was dealing with another company a while back and they bad mouthed TST, Enterprise Engine, and Piers. That was the end of the conversation, but how many people believe that kind of crap?

Maybe that is part of it.

I didn't look close, are most of the posters on DD's thread west coasters?Ohio is a drive for most of the country.

Maybe a lot of guys WANT to keep Mitchell a secret for the advantage.

Figure out what you want to do, what hp level you want to be at, make the trip to Daves, you will be money ahead.

There is lots of Diesel events, pulls, drag races in that area. Make a full trip of it.

I wish over and over I would have just started there instead of all over the place. Live and learn I guess.

Don't you already have a 215 pump? Or is yours a California truck?

I don't mind spending money on parts that work, it is the list of grenaded so called "Hi-Po" parts that cost me thousands and two pulling seasons that torque me!!

Gene

So ya got two turbos on that? How is the lag from launch?

How much did the twins cost?

How much do you think you are going to end up spending on a 215 pump?

Does Mitchell think the 215 pump is the best one?

What does he use?

Thanks

Chris

Lag? What's that?

Less than what it was before it went in. Very responsive, but definately rocks as it climbs.

Mitchell has prices on his site I believe.

I don't know about the 215 pump. Keep my eye out for a used one to work over. Not for along time.

I think everybody agrees the 215's are the best.

What does Dave use? I don't know, but it prolly once was a 215, since it was a 96 5speed.

I think the case is the same still!;)
