Already two different correction factors listed!!!LOL

So take away 10% correction factor, a 200 shot of Nitrous, propane, meth, your drug of choice, plus turn it down to get home and poof! We have a 400hp truck sledpulling.

Or, we have a dyno that was reading high. :-laf

Actually three LOL. Don M said it was 4%. ;)

Well, making power on a dyno and pulling a sled are two totally different things. We all know, there are'nt any correction factors at 300'.

to be exact brett's first run was 688 w/ nitrous, his second run was 813 w/ out nitrous--------his truck was having electronic problems and was running to lean to make any power with nos, so there you have it 800+ on # 2 only and one box. thats straight from brady. :--) :D

I was standing right there and there was a NOS pop from to much

There are lots of factors that get us to 300' just not some wiz bang percentage pulled out of a PC. :D more like tire speed, tires, traction, suspension, weight, driving skills, etc... . Tom had a real low number on the dyno last fall but has yanked the sled 300' on lots of occasions.

Is that the truck that belched white smoke when the guy hammered on the go peddle, and then freaked out  I thought he actully had so much nos it almost put the fire out, is that possible ?

Too lean for nitrous... ..... That doesn't make much sense. He was smoking pretty hard. His problem was too much nitrous too early. On both runs he had NOS pops. I thought he was about to brake his thumb from pressing the button so hard.

It is possible, i did it on my first run. It totally kills the flame and it falls on its face.

Then I would have to agree, as I was standing right there as well. Infact I swear I heard them talking about the nitrous between runs as they were trying to figure out what happened.

I have been at this dyno event for the last 4 years at least and these guys and their dyno are very consistent. I dynoed 304 last year and then added injectors and did 361 on a mustang in Ontario in January this year. With nothing else changing. They know how to load a diesel and most of the trucks that dyno there have the same or close to it at other events, so I doubt that these numbers are high. As far as ATS's Duramax, Clint replaced an injector the next day that blew out and the truck started and ran, but still lost coolant so he did blow the head gasket but no pistons or rod damage. At least not that they knew of. And BTW. The 888 HP was on #2 only. No propane or NOS. I don't know about Water Meth. But no drugs. I missed the Dodge that made 893, Congrats to them. Pretty impressive, and a blast to be there.

As far as the pull, they ended up moving the start line up after the first round, as it was an up hill start. They didn't prep the track, just graded it and it really wasn't flat. Pretty much a crap shoot as to weather or not you were going to hook up or spin the wheels. Melissa with her first Gen with only 197 HP got third in the stock event after correcting a bad hop and continuing on down the track. Her first ever pull. How's that for all over the board??? :-laf Alot of fun. Just couldn't take it to seriously. :D

there was another gentleman from SLC running the same pump stacked with a TST box

(sorry I forgot your name} dynoed right arounf 650 diesel only

So Betty, where was all the HP at the pull?

You were there Tom. Like I said I got to the dyno late and missed the Big HP trucks. All I saw was Clints Duramax with really big #'s. Actually the PDI guys came in late and ran 2 3rd gens with Twins and one of them lost a turbo, the other was at the pull and did great. You know who has the HP better than I do!!!!. Hey them Fords seems to have a little something under the hood, and a lot of gauges. Gave you a little run for the money but you still beat them. :-laf

A 60' margin is no "run for the money"... ... ... ... ..... even you know that.
Opp!!! Sorry Tom. Are you still smiling? :D :D :D

And let me say it again. You did an awesome pull. Effortless from my vantage point. Oo.

well, when i came to MM i came to win the dyno event, and the little shop from Riverdale got 1st and 3rd. No big budget, just a lot of time testing and learning. Both of my trucks are set up to drag race, not sled pull. I build them light and with power. For pulling you need heavy and and no suspencion movement. The 06 truck that i sled pulled only has a 1000 miles on it. Any of the trucks that won the sled pulls i would ask them to drag race. Are trucks are just set up different. When street racing in college i beat a lot of guys that had 550 HP when i was only at 400 HP. I had a lot less weight than they did and i hooked up. Dynoing is a sport, as drag racing is, as sled pulling is and winning one event will not meen that you will win the other event. Both the 03 and the 06 have dynoed consistent the last 4 months. They are both daily driven.

Yes we were there and yes we made a 812hp. We as Comp said purchased a NX 2 Stage nitrous kit. We have plenty of fuel supply from the CP3 that we are running. It is a kit that we have put together. The ECM does not like the fuel in heavy doses and was defueling our truck. The new TST/CR box that Mark sent us was also jumping around and changing from were we had set it time after time. We installed the nitrous right before we left for MM and had not tuned it. We set it up for just 1 stage and put it on a hand held button. We dynoed the truck twice and could not get the nitrous to work right. Any time we pushed the button the engine popped. We just couldn't use it! Our truck did smoke, but certainly was not clouding the parking lot. Yes we are running Water/Meth but it is not staged. Those of you that know us will know we have been on the phone constantly we have not had the time to tune this truck correctly. We are doing this to blaze a new trail and show what can be made. This will be a very interesting summer as to competing. It will come with some new twists and products. We did sled pull our truck and did OK (1st place in our class) but we have never done that before. We will need to make some mods to the suspension and tires etc. as many of you have already done. After the sled pulling event which we received a trophy for, we drove over to Las Vegas Speed Way and there we were drag racing. Barry from NADP ran a 12. 4 in his gold truck which runs a Silver Bullet and our Stage 3 injectors. Again very little smoke! We broke the trans. In our first run at the strip we heard a pop right after the 60ft mark (1. 6 sec. ) and coasted down the track. Barry took 3rd place at the Sled Pull in the heavy class and showed very well. I think if we would have stayed instead of going to the Drag Strip he would have won. We will be swapping transmission's today to get ready for Thursday night diesel drags. My truck dynoed at 598hp. I think I could have done more if I would have dropped 1 more number on the TST/CR box. Cody dynoed at 520hp with his 2nd gen. 24valve truck, again we need to do some tunning. We had a Vendor booth at MM this year and getting ready took a ton of time to set up our new tailer and get everything in there and put together a nice showing. There will be next time, this summer is just getting started. Thanks, Brady

Big Bad Dodge, I hope your truck will be OK. I have never seen your truck shut down that soon. By the way we had a ton of fun hanging out with all of you and we will be looking forward to next time we get together when ever that ends up being. Thanks

Brett, Thanks for clearing things up, these threads can run away pretty quik with out any facts. Congrates on the numbers and I hope youy guy's get her dialed in soon. The BBD is repair mode and I should have it at the pull in Houghson, CA on the 20th barring no complications.

Regards,

BBD

Brett, Congrats on the big #s. I love watching the big HP trucks at the dyno at May Madness. (And the sled pull too. ) I only wish they could figure out a way to get the number "up" so we all can see what each truck does. It's tough to go shopping around after each run to see what the numbers are, especially with so much going on inside and out. Had a great time and I'm glad all you guys spend so much time and money to make it happen, You too Scott. It's a lot of fun. Thanks to Industrial Injection, PDI, BBD, DPS BIG Power Diesel and ATS for hauling all the trucks in from so far away every year. And all the others that I'm forgetting right now. Can't wait for the next event. Oo.

Betty
