I need to replace my clutch, ASAP. I am going to order one from Rip next week if I cant swing the deal with Jim on his used one. But, I was thinking next weekend if any TDR guys in the area can lend a hand, and any tools that I may not have? Maybe one of ya have a lift? anyway, let me know, as its getting worse by the day!

Let me know when, if I can shoot down I'll see what I can do.

Let me know what tools you may need to borrow... I have plenty, and the fat kid can grab them on the way! (not nessissarly on THE way, but close enough)

I'm no professional but I'd be glad to lend a hand if you need it. Send me a PM if you want & I should be able to make it.

thanks alot guys, the only thing left I need to find out is if Jim wants to sell me his clutch, but I cant get a hold of him... I feel like I am buggin him, but I just need to know if he wants to give it up or if I need to buy one!

how much is this going to suck having to replace this in my driveway? Its gravel, and I dont fit in the garage. I have jack stands, a floor jack, and a pretty good sized assortment of wrenches and sockets, but as far as any special tools, I dont have whole lot of them. Also, if one of ya could bring a valve kit with too, i would like to adjust the valves at the same time.

Thanks again guys,

Matt

PS, I WILL have hamburgers and brats this time, I PROMISE! but you will have to bring your own drinks.

Don'nt forget a wide wheeled floor jack and at least 2 full sized peaces of at least 1/2 " plywood [ becouse your on gravel] , this to lower & lift the trans. this sounds like an wrench day .

I can probably help out next weekend. I have a good floor jack and a transmission adapter plate that works fairly well. Not sure how it will do on gravel though. Might want to throw down a piece of plywood or something.

Let me know when & where.

I know this weekend he has/had a full boat going. He should be around home though. Last I heard he and Amianthus were doing some work on Amianthus's truck.

Alpha, think your truck would make it 2 1/2 hour drive to my place? I have a nice shop to work in here with all the tools needed except a line up tool for the clutch itself but a clutch kit should have it in it. The only other tools needed are a few metric sockets and wrenches, a torque wrench, a good jack, a BFH for removing the crossmember, and a rachet strap to help hold the transmission on the jack when you pull it out. It doesn't hurt to have a good hand cleaner and some blue shop towels around also and a bucket of water to rinse in unless you don't mind getting it in your house.

Another question is how modified is your truck? I have a stock clutch here that is used but slipped while towing heavy on me a half dozen times when I pulled it. You are welcome to it if you want it. I think it would run a long time in a stock truck yet.

C, thanks alot man, I am only running a Comp Box, which if needed, i could drive with it off :( lol but I may take you up on that. As far as the drive, yeah I could make that... . but if I am going to drive to a shop, my dad has a HUGE shop I can borrow if needed, I dont think he would have an issue with it, only thing is, I know he would not allow alcohol. I dont drink, so to me its not a big deal.

who all is coming!? PM me an let me know your coming please. I need to know what I have to get for food! Also, if I could maybe get someone to bring a set of stock sized wheels/tires, I could pull it into the garage if I had a set of stockers, would make this alot easier! Also, I only have one set of jack stands, if some of you could bring a few more, that would be also a big help. Can any of you bring the alignment tool we will need? And again, while were at it, if someone wants to tackle setting the valves, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks

Saturday September 3rd, my house, and what ever time works for ya'll. I will be cooking brats, and hamburgers (I PROMISE I WILL THIS TIME :-laf ), and if ya'll like, My race team ( i work on the team) is racing out at Elko that night, so if you want to go watch, we could do that later.

I ended up picking up a 12v engine all the way back to the transfer case, os I robbed the damn near brand new clutch plate and flywheel out of that for the clutch going it. I wanted the new SB clutch, but the moneys are just not there right now :( . But, hey, just let me know what time works for you, I will be here. :-laf

Again, if we can get 4 regular sized spare tires/wheels, we could get it in the garage this time! :-laf

the higher up the better man. that way you can sit up under there and work. how big is your lift kit? 4"was it? alright how about directions for some folks... . ?
