Ok, another update on the truck. It's now running pretty good, still need to pickup a new fuel shutoff solinoid for easy starts, took it down the road on Saturday, shifts in up and down the gears good, so the transmission works. But due to lack of funds and a Garage yet, the rebody and major work will be put off till after this season, so I'm going to concentrate on lightening up the factory body, turning up the motor, locking the axles (locker in front and welded spiders in back) and running it as is this year.

12 valve modifications, here is where I need some help. Right now, the 96 truck has a 215hp P-pump in it with 181 delivery valves, the factory fuel plate, injectors and turbo. I want to squeeze as much power out of it as possible for as little denero as possible. Getting a house and garage are top priorities right now, as well as a trailer big enough to haul the truck, etc...

So what are the modifications I can do to the engine? I know I can get injectors and turbo's, I'm looking at getting some DDP 140hp injectors and a new turbo probably something like a phat shaft 66 with 12cm housing. The truck will never see the street, won't pull a trailer, and will run for 10 to 30 seconds through a mud pit only.

Right now I have the fuel plat shoved all the way forward, running stock timing, I have the timing tools, so I plan on adjusting the timing to 16 degrees and grinding the fuel plate to a 100 pattern. What else should I focus on for changes/modifications. I'm not O-ringing the head this year or putting studs in yet (next year hopefully). I'm looking at putting a 4000gsk kit, 60lb valve springs, do I need bigger delivery valves? Remember, I'm doing this on a very limited budget, if I can get away with the 181's, I'll do that till next year. I still have another 900. 00 worth of super swamper tires to buy, body lift kit, 20' gooseneck utility trailer, etc. . to buy before the season starts.

Is 16 degrees of timing enough? I believe I read, that was the max without 0-ringing and studs, is that correct?

AFC mods, what is there to do to the AFC housing?

Any other pump adjustments that I can make for better power?

Is there a better turbo than the phat shaft 66?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Morph.

I recall reading in the TDR magazine that Joe Donnelly stated that 191s don't deliver much more then 181s so I would stick with the 181s.

Turn your star wheel on top of the AFC housing. (The Star Wheel is hidden there is some type of bolt you hav eto un-screw to access it so do search, many threads on it) so you increase fuel to the p7100 at low boost.
