I want to buy a bug deflector for my 01. Does anyone have any experience with the Mopar shield? Does it work? Actually, I'm more interested in protecting the hood-fenders from gravel chips then bugs.

Will be going to Alaska in June and thinking of trying hood shield, Stongard shields for headlights and grill inserts to protect radiator. Any thoughts?

Just put one on 2 days ago so I don't know how well it works. The install is a little sketchy as the directions are buggy. The rubber bumpers for the hood section go on the hood, not the grill. The bumpers on the fenders work better if you move the inside ones towards the outside. All in all I would look to the aftermarket If I was to do it again...

I put a Mopar shield on my '98 for the same reason (to keep the gravel chips off the fenders). It works to keep the gravel off, but it sure doesn't seem to keep any bugs off! I haven't really looked at the other aftermarket ones, but the Mopar one fits the contours pretty good.

I have the Deflectashield brand on my truck, and it doesn't work worth squat! The only thing it does is collect bugs which would otherwise hit the top of the grille. BFD! I still get plenty of bugs on the windshield.
