Is there a Mopar accessory part number for remote start on the 6. 7L? Dealer said their is no remote start available unless it can from Detroit that way or aftermarket.

Before I bought my 2008, I really looked at the remote start as something I would like. Well, only Chev has it as a factory option. Ford offered it to me as an aftermarket item and Dodge said it was not available and I did research the phone numbers and the websites and could not find any after market remote start for the 6. 7... . Just for the gas engine Dodge. The Chev is a really neat option. :)

they offer a chiped key add on module that you can use to add a secodary alarm like a viper or ? this will give you the auto start with a delay setting and a turbo timer. plus the secondary alarm will controls the factory alarm.

I am really happy with my setup.

plus. . if you really get bored you can hook the truck release to a relay for your train horn. . :-laf

Wildwestdiesel gave me part number 82211439AC as the remote start that was installed in his '08. My dealer has that kit and will install it before I pick the truck up Friday. Should call me tomorrow with the details on how the install went. From what I can tell it is all plug and play with the WCM being replaced and reprogrammed with the remote start feature.

My brother-in-law just bought an 09 with this. It has different keys so I would like to see how that is going to work. I thought about getting it on my 09 that I should be picking up on Friday, but I don't know the price and didn't want to ask.

You get new keys with the Mopar kit and they get programmed as well. The kit and installation is running me $275-$300. But it will be covered under the 3/36 by having it installed before delivery.

I'm guessing they are just uncut keys and you have to program them. Never thought of that, but makes sense. Not really too bad on the price. I should consider it.....

I forgot to follow up with the RS kit from Mopar. Install went fine but I had no start and just lights flashed, until yesterday. All of us were scratching our heads and it turned out my truck was one identified on a rapid response to have the TIPM reflashed to a 2009 verses 2008. This created a programming mismatch until the RR was performed and then I pressed the button for the heck of it and she fired up. The motor hasn't been cold enough to see what the delay feature is, as the truck was hot when I tried the RS so it fired right away after the lights and horn did their thing.

According to the instructions it will only work on the auto's.

On another note it appears that the delay varies, if it is hot it starts right away and the other morning it was 45 and it delayed for about 5-10 seconds.
