OK Guys,

I have been searching the forum for a clear answer to this question, but am running out of time to make a decision, and haven't found one yet.

I need to know if the front and rear (SRW) Mopar plain rubber flaps are long enough to prevent rock chipping of paint and if suitable for towing a fiver.

I'd hate to take my new truck and new trailer out the first time just to end up with a pitted paint job on both 2000 miles down the road.

All advice and experiences, yours or a friends, appreciated.

Regards,

Joe

mud flaps

Dont know if you have a Pep Boys Auto parts there but was in one of their stores the other day and they had about ten different styles running from around 14. 00 to 20. 00. looked better than the mopars I saw and better price.

Are they long enough?

I drove my 99 SLT with the longest version of the Mopar flaps and the side of my truck was never going to rust as long as I kept it on the Bush roads up here in the Boonies. Take it from me they help but they don't walk on water. I'm waiting for my 04 HO 6 spd to arrive. I'll mount another set of flaps but this time I'm getting some 3-M clear tape for rock chip protection. ;)

I am sure others can add more here.

I bought the Mopar ones they don't extend down long enough truck still gets muddy the trailer too. My brother has a set of the NW Custom flaps and they are light years better. My trailer is a 1986 so I will live with what I have now.
