Snoxracer and Skargo - thanks for finally putting all the info out there. After looking at the pics, I'm not sure I'm as interested - but it certainly makes the choice a lot easier. While they look ok with the more round shape etc, I think the little side blinker looks really cheap - like it's tacked on, rather than flush or truly intergrated into the miror's housing. Also how do they extend?

Also, and I know this might sound funny and draw some comments, but it looks like the above mirror is going to cause a lot more drag than the stockers. I have definitely noticed that when I have my tow mirrors out, which puts them in a vertical position, that my mpg drops ever so slightly. It might be too small of an amount to worry about, but regardless. .

Lightman,

They extend manually, if thats what you are asking.

And as far as a drop in MPG, these look more aerodynamic, but we'd need a windtunnel to verify.

I'm sure the mpg difference would be a fraction of a MPG anyway, you'd never notice it.

Can you still get the "old style" flip up tow mirrors? Or is this a replacement? I would have to sit in the driver's seat to get a real opinion.

I hope they are cheap, because they certainly LOOK cheap. They look to be of less quality than the stuff that comes oem on the fords and lincolns. . that turn signal is just tacked on there. No offense to those that like them, but THANK YOU for posting pics to those that did, because no friggin way! :)

The people that have bought them, and the people here that have them love them.

They are fine quality wise, I wouldn't sell crap to people, and am offended you insinuated that I would.

I was looking through the Mopar accessories book and I noticed they now have flip-up trailer tow mirrors with a side marker light and turn signal built into them. Does anybody have these, or seen them? They dont show a picture. They sell for $495. 00. I would like to see what they look like before I order them. Thanks.

A friend of mine just purchased a set from our local Dealer, they are a carbon copy of cipa extendable mirrors (perhaps they are the sub-contactor) with a 1/2" X 3" wide strip of yellow l. e. d. s. running horizontaly from the center egde to the front side of the mirror housing, and a convex hot spot mirror in lefthand bottom corner, they should have installed the l. e. d. s. on the mirror glass where they can be seen. He paid $449. 00 +Tax for them, they have a little bit more surface area than the fold-up style mirrors on my 04. 5. Only you can decide if they $500. 00 more.

With all due respect to those that bought these, they're just not my cup of tea. I would have prefered to have indicators built-in to the existing trailer tow mirrors as OEM'd on my '04. 5. I'm just not digging the styling... sorry guys. I guess it was easier for DC to buy an existing design than modify one they already had. It's a shame... Ford did theirs right, but DC dropped the ball once again. Too little, too late, IMHO.

Just to clear things up, the LED's can be seen just fine. The ones that blink can be seen completly from the rear and side of the vehicle without any problem at all.

As far as the styling goes, good thing we all don't like the same things or this would be Nazi Germany. The people I sold them to so far love them.

I like mine, The best thing that I do like is that my truck doesn't look like the rest of the trucks out there!! Plus I like lights!! :D

Any new feedback from those who bought them. Still Lovin' 'em. I've got a cracked mirror and I'm thinking about putting a set of these on instead of fixing the old one.

I still like mine! I have had a lot of comments from people that say they like them, the thing I like most about them is the marker-turn signal light. Plus I think that they offer a better view for towing!

Snoxracer

OK

I'm still interested in 2 sets..... not for the lights or the style... Only if they extend 3" farther from the window than the stock flip up mirrors..... so if someone could measure from the outside edge of the mirror to the window on these mirrors... I'd do the same with my stock mirrors and make up my mind.....

We pull wide trailers and just can't see behind them..... Oh yea... I assume they fold in like the stock mirror to get the truck into a standard garage door.....

Thank you...
