In my daily quest to improve my truck, I planning to add the strip of black moulding between the rear wheelwell and the rear bumper - that one that runs along the belt line of the truck on SLT's but DC only puts from the rear wheels forward. True, its probably not functional back there but I think it would finish out the truck. Anyway, my local dealer said I had to order the whole set when really all I need are two short strips. Has anyone heard who makes the moulding for Chrysler? I tried the local paint/ body shops but no luck on a match.

Long shot: Has anyone taken them off of a truck and want to sell them?

Thanks. I love my truck more everyday. This weekend the slide-in camper gets ordered!

Do a search. There is a thread that gives the $ and #'s for the strips (long and short) because the y2k's and up only have the cab done. I read the thread and dont recall where it is.

Vic,Im surprised that Carson City Dodge was not able to help you. At least Im assuming that since your from Carson City. These mouldings are sold separately. The earlier models had them. I believe 96,97 possibly the 98s. A good parts person would get off his duff and find them on his computer. Im in the body trade so I talk from experience. Yes there is another posting on this. Im sure it was under the 24v but could be mistaken. BTW. if you cant find them email me and Ill look for the part # in our computer at work.

Look in TDR #27 pages 80-81. Pictures and info. Bottom line, John Holmes relates that the '99 short bed "front of bed" molding goes nicely beteen the rear of the bed and the rear of the wheel well. The Pics confirm that.

Take heart, we of the '00-'01 vintage have to buy moldings for the front of the bed also. Somewhere on the site this was refered to as "decontenting", my '96 had moldings all the way.

Thanks for the info. I just got issue 27 in the mail yesterday and am going to head to Dodge after work and try to order them. ( I wonder if the mailman has a TD? - mine seems a little late) Thanks again.

Does anyone know if you can get the molding for the behind the cab for the Y2k 3500's? Vic R is right, that would finish off the look of the truck.
