Greetings All;

I just spent $150 on oil, filters (full flow and bypass), a sampling kit and a small bottle of fuel treatment at my local amsoil dealer. After 70kmi with the dual bypass, I think I'm done. I drive 'Olga' infrequently as I have a company truck (just shy of 100kmi on a '98). Even If I drove her more I'd still consider a new setup.

One of the selling points for the dual bypass was the ease of installation, filter changes and sampling thanks to a TDR member basement enterpriser that made a mounting bracket/battery tie down for the passenger side battery.

My question is: is there such a thing for the frantz? How are folks sampling? I'm not that familiar with the system yet and any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Do a search on mounting Frantz oil filters. On this page you will find your question on top of page. Go down page to mounting "frantz filter on 02" click on that link Gary has his quip on there and you can see how he did his. I done mine the same way.

Gary did a great writeup on his, and if you search you should be able to find it. It's one of the biggest threads on the TDR site I think. Unfortunately, I don't think Gary's been active here in quite a while.

I took a much simpler route than Gary did, but I freely admit his mounting bracket wins over mine for cool points. I just took a section of 2x6, chiseled out a groove and fit it between the passenger side battery and it's hold-down bolt. That gives a surface to screw the filter bracket down onto. Here's a pic:

Next time I have to pull the battery out I'm going to hit the 2x6 with some black paint. Also, note that mine is a Motorguard, but the bracket is pretty similar.
