MPG on Trip

I think I got some pretty good mileage on the last trip!! Went from St Ignatius MT to Indy empty and had an average of 13 MPG pulling a 7k trailer at around 70 to 75 mph.



Loaded up and left Indy and drove to North Platte NE 10 MPG, pulling a trailer weight of 12K at around 60 to 65 mph.



Left N Platte heading to home and still around 10 MPG, then from Butte to Seeley MT got 9MPG at what ever speed I felt comfortable with its up hill and nasty road conditions.



DTT trans is the best addition I have made to this truck. I could not be anymore pleased with it

Mileage sounds about right for the load you were pulling and the speed. I get 10 to 11 pulling my 5er at about 62 mpg. But when I start going up and down hills, it get a little worse.

I thought that it was pretty good for an empty 7k flat bed at 70,75 mph, no wind resistance on a flat bed once its rolling. Hooked up with some BIG TRUCKS out of Butte going to Sioux Falls SD no doubt that helped the milage some, having them to break air and pull me along in their draft. Did the same out of Indy but was loaded, them Pods boxes they are not the most aerodynamic things in the world. I have the same gear ratio as you the 3:73 gears im happy with the mileage cant say the same with the wife she was a little nervous about being in the middle of a 6 truck (and us ) freight train high balling down I 90 YAP-ING ON THE CB LIKE A BUNCH OF ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... TRUCK DRIVERS :-laf. Nephew asked this is what you called work when you had your truck? until about the 20th hour then it wasn't so fun any longer :-laf
