My 03's annoying quirks.

The 03 in my sig has several quirks and I decided to see if anyone else has them.

1. While cruising on the interstate or highway speeds 70-80 MPH 6th gear RPM's 2000-2350 my truck will completely cut out for a second or two then come back and go back to the prior speed. It happens with or without cruise control on and only happens with Juice set on anything other than 0. I just had the Juice sent in for HOT upgrade and it checked out OK. Also this only occurs after truck has run for at least 20-30 minutes. It also did not occur when temps were below 10' F.

2. When I come to a stop after my truck is completely warmed up my truck will try to idle at anything from 1100-750 RPM's. A hard push on the brakes slows the engine back to normal idle speed.

I've learned to accept these quirks but was wondering if anyone else experiences them.

i would get rid of the edge and get a nother programmer i always hear alot of bad things on edges with manual trannys

None of those here! I know some of the early 6 speeds liked to keep pulling after you shut the cruise control off. They had a flash to fix it.

I have the hard pull to the right quirk and the loose driver's seat quirk oh and the black smoke out the tail pipe quirk :-laf

my rpms get lost when i pull it out of gear while rolling to a stop. but i think it would do that considering the wheels are moving. and it only goes up to about 850

I have had the idle problem. Also I've had erratic fan operation and the doors would lock using the button pad on the door with the engine running. Turns out all the problems are related to poor connections at the pins on the ECM. There was a problem with some of the earlier 03s and there are repair kits to correct. Up here the kits are about $180. 00 each and approx. 4 hours labor to fix. After they narrowed it down the technician tried to fix the pins until the kits arrived. The fan has only acted up a couple of times since and the idle has been perfect. I will try and report after I've had the repair for a few days.

Mine does exactly the same. Sometimes the "jerk" from the engine cutting out will just kill the criuse all together.

Got a different quirk

I don't have either of those quirks but I have one where randomly the fuel light will come on and the fuel gauge will drop to 'E' and sound a ding. Every once in a while all of the small gauges will drop to the far left during that whole scenario.



Sometimes it just dings, no indicators. I think she just gets lonely!

Oh! I do have one! How about this. . Sometimes when I put it in reverse it will chime once! No idea why. Though at one point it was because I was moving still. . Some "don't do that" warning. But has done it when I was stopped.

I'm really starting to think a downloder might be the way to go but Bully Dog does'nt have a Crazy Larry for the 03 and I want that much additional power on tap for special occasions. Does anyone have high power(150 HP +) downloaders for the 03's?

The problems are getting worse as temps come up so I am shipping the Juice back to be checked out. They have never heard of a problem like this before. I'll get it shipped to them and see what they do.

do you still have the stock lift pump? mine did this exact same thing . If i had the crusie control on it would kick the cruise off and stumble then come back like normal . it would do this about two or three times in a 15 minute period then it wouldnt do it again for a week or so then pump just died installed a Fass pump never had the problem again its been almost a yr

No I have a FASS 95 fuel pump and gauge. Pressure NEVER goes below 10 PSI.

Could be but truck is still very strong and does not do it while stock or even with my VA duration box back on it.

smokey ditto on the idle probs it was doing it constantly today until i hit my brake hard and the rpms settled down. see my thread I started last week about this sound like i may just live with it for now could be my edge box
