Not sure what that means? I took the 29 to this guy and had him go through it. It already had the Connex board (echo, talkback) and Mofset finals added when I bought it off EBay. He adjusted the dead key to 1 & 2 watts (adjusted with the dimmer) for full modulation and 40 watt swing. And then I bought the heater from him a week later.

You have to have the shop match the radio to the amp... you can't just throw an amp on a radio and go. That in itself could be your problem...

I'm sure someone else can explain it better...

Also, did you try grounding the radio to the amp?

I'll have to go back out there and ask him about that????

No, but both negative leads are grounded to the vehicle chassis, and both chassis (radio and amp) are also grounded to the vehicle chassis.

For those of you following this thread, I've tried everytyhing Quad suggested, including requesting a RMA# ... ..... which I never did get.

Anyway, I switched from a magnet mount W500 with the coax coming through the firewall, to a roof mount W1000 and the coax coming through the "B" pillar. Getting the coax away from the main wiring, plus a good chassis ground antenna was the goal.

I can tell you for sure after tonight that this thing gets out way better with this antenna set-up ... ... ... recieves way better too.

As for the Quad. I love the fooling as compared to re-programming ... ... ... ... I love the descreet switch mounting ... ... ... ... ... ... . I love my analog gages as opposed to digitals ... ... ... ... I love the power it produces. It's the box I want, and I sent it to a competitors for RF shielding. It should be back anytime soon and I'll let you know how it all works out!

It is pretty simple to get an RMA#.

You call the 800 # and speak with tech. There are plenty of people that have no problems getting them.

Stuff like that drives me crazy. You could have had this thing fixed weeks ago.

In my correspondance with Roarke, I requested and RMA#, even after he told me the fix would only be good for a 4-5 watt "leagal" radio.

It's no big thing, I had some issues with my relief valve and an elusive boost leak that was easier to iron out in stock form Im guessing.

I've been on the road 60-70 days out of the last 90, so all of this plus regular maintanance has been a handfull.
