Just wanted to share with you all what was going on with my Suncoast transmission build up. I dropped off my truck at the local transmission shop last Thursday 8am. Suncoast 3 disk converter and valve boady were to arrive at noon. I get a call the next day about a problem with the snap ring in the Tcase comming out of the grove and wearing on some of the parts. Now they need to keep the truck over the weekend and finish up on monday. So I go down to the shop to check it out & the tech points out that one of the bolts on the coverter was bent in shipping(looked like converter had been dropped). So they retapped the bolt hole and said to check my fluid for clutch metrial when I get out to Dallas (moving this Friday).

So I get a call Monday saying everything was installed and during testdrive transmission wasnt shifting out of 1st. SO they dropped the pan and found clutch metrial in oil. They suspected the VB was causing the shifting problem and wanted to get the ok from Suncoast to check it out. This was after hours at Suncoast 4pm CA time. SO I call Suncoast and a guy answers so i think great I may be able to save a day of waiting. NO such luck. The guy was on his way out the door late for dinner. I asked him if he could make a quick call to the shop to give the OK. Said couldnt do it was late. So I call back 15 min later & another guy answers, says will call the shop. Great! So I later call down to the shop & they never got a call. So I told the shop to call SUncoast, someone is there.

So shop gets ok & opens up VB & finds that its warn out & is causing shifting problems. I dont have time to wait for new on to be shipped (Suncoast will only 2day it) so I have them put a Transgo in my stock VB instead. So they get that put in today & go for a test drive. Shifting good until oil heats up & is not shifting again. THey think there may be a burr grinding off clutch meterial in the TC. What are the odds of this happening? Now I have to have them put the stock TC back in. :(

I agree with Travis. He is asking for help not which auto to buy.

CTD600 - Did you call Suncoast and ask for Joe?

TL- So far i've let the local shop handle it. At this point I'll have to wait until I get moved & then i'll try & figure out what to do. Maybe I'll wait and save up for billet shafts to go along w/ the TC
