Removing Dents

Buying a used lift

The Toyota saga finally ends.Woke up last night quite frequently and that timing belt was on my mind every time. Went out as soon as it got light and literally used a prybar to get the belt off the crank. Ilooked through the post JR had and went to the bottom comment section and saw this.
Question:
Do the arrows on timing belt point toward the engine or the mechanic?

Answer:
The engine.f

Now that is the way I had it when the dashed line would not line up and there was no way that would happen without stretching the belt. I flipped the belt so the arrows are now pointing to the fender and aligned the belt with the rear sprocket as there is no way to see a mark on the stamped steel with that kiddie J box where it is and wa la everything lined up. Rotated the engine by hand and did not seem to hit any obstructions. Figured I had to be at least somewhat good, hooked up the battery with the rest of the engine laying in a pile on the ground. Turned the key and it fired right up and went to idle. Let it run for a few seconds and went to reassembling the rest of the carnage making sure to anti seize every bracket and bolt that went to aluminum. Finally get all the covers, motor mount and brackets all back on. The power steering pump is under the passenger side and the pass. side tire needs to be off which it already was to access a lot of timing belt components. I bought new belts figuring I would do it everything I could access. What a PIA that pump was, you can only see maybe half the pulley and had to use a crow bar to get the belt on. The serpentine which runs the AC and alternator went fairly well. Time to put in the anti freeze. Another great idea is not to put the coolant cap on the radiator but to stuff it halfway under the cowl. No sense in making anything that makes sense. I managed to jam a plastic funnel to put the antifreeze in.

Deep under all this carnage is a timing belt

This is Toyota's version of a wire raceway complete with heater duct work. It is a sight to be seen and is right above the rear cam. You can see the timing mark on the sprocket but cannot line it up with it's mate because this trinket is right there with very little movement. from what I can tell every wire in the front end.engine goes through this taped up minagerie. There are wires everywhere on this engine going to things I have never seen and have no idea what they are.
