Glad I kept the snow tires on..

It was strange all day. Snowed steadily all morning but was melting immediately on the roads. Then about 1.00 pm it was just like someone snapped a switch and it started to stick.
Sometimes it looked slippery and it was not, then in places it looked ok but was slick as could be. Then it got colder as I got closer to home and it was almost a whiteout when I got to Lincoln...and it was all slippery then..
Very tired of the long rides home in this stuff...

63 miles each way.
Normal time is one hour down and one hour back at night.

Tonight 1 1/2 hours. I’ve seen it take 2 hours or more in a real bad storm..

The Wife informs me you have 13 more than her when she drove from the base to the converse factory in Presque Isle

Comparing to guys who do the suburban commute into the city, that’s about average. My buddy who does the Manhattan to Pocono deal is 87 door to door. Of course the roads are USUALLY better run in around here during winter. Lol.

Installed the new ISSPRO fuel pressure gauge today since the Westach fuel pressure gauge sending unit sprung a major diesel leak after 20 years (they just don't make things to last). The ISSPRO is a stepper motor design so a complete wiring re-do. Took me about 3 1/2 hrs working a steady pace. Turned the ignition on and flipped the lift pump override switch on and viola 14psi. Turned everything off and still 14psi. Unplugged the gauge still 14psi . Come to find out that the ignition switch needs to stay on with no pump for the stepper motor to zero the gauge. This will take some getting use to. The only way around this would require removing the wire from the ignition switch and powering the gauge constantly which I do not think is a good idea. I also replaced the 20 year old grease gun hose and re-tywrapped the new sensor to a hose off of the engine again. Longevity test in progress.
