This is a iron remover for rail iron, brake dust etc.. It turns purple when dissolving contaminates.
#ad

FYI: If using a coating most manufacturers now make a vehicle soap to use on those coatings to keep them from deteriorating.
I still use a wax, less of a hassle and still protects.

Minus the coating part which was after the cleaning steps, the Iron cleaning step was amazing to see the pics of how it responded to the stuff (similar stuff turned purple) and how much the dealer prep was a waste of time, better off taking it dirty and having some pros clean it up. That vehicle was white..

Yes the sequence usually goes like this
Wash
Iron remover
Rinse
Clay
Polish with DA
If oils from polish/compound remain
Wash with Dawn (only time it is to be used) or use a dedicated wax remover
Apply Wax or Coating
Dedicated Vehicle soap or coating soap there after (No dishwashing soap, it's made for dishes not paint).

Well, this happened today

Went through several wacky scenarios, and is basically locked up. I knew the tech stuff was a gamble going in. As long as the AC keeps working, it's just a bump in the road. I was going to schedule a visit anyway, as the "soft opening" tailgate just crashes down, and the right cable is much shorter than the left, so it takes all the load if you place weight on the gate.

On the CF forum, 2019 general discussion section, there is a thread about your situation that has interesting info......

especially the BSOD.
These new radios run on Windows? :) :)

So, I dropped the truck off for several items today.
  1. 2-1 SLAM shift-This is beyond a harsh shift, it gets into a false neutral, gains revs and does a neutral drop into low- I offered to take them on a short ride where I could duplicate the issue, they declined. Checked for updates, said I already have the most current software. Said it takes 1K miles for learning to complete, I was at 800. They reset the shift strategy, so I have another 1K miles to monitor it.
  2. There was an RRT(19-057)for the rear air suspension that just popped up-It was working fine, so hope it doesn't undo something good.
  3. The 12" screen going berserk-Performed radio reset.
  4. The "soft opening" tailgate slamming down-Ordered new damper.
  5. Tailgate cables vastly different length-Ordered new cables.

I was under the impression the 68RFE was a learning trans, not the Aisin. Is that a change for 2019?

Who the HE!! knows I have heard it both ways. My 68 and now AISIN have been excellent without issues others have mentioned. Maybe it's because I ran the HE!! outa both when new.

Tom,
There's been discussion about terms on the Aisin's intelligence before on the TDR. Wording I've seen in Ram literature is its "adaptive" to driver and conditions, which in the bigger interpretation to me, is more dynamic in adapting than "learning" which implies to me programming takes time to adjust to different driving styles.

I dunno, I like my Aisin and I have friends who have both transmissions and everyone likes there's. When we're around the campfire having some cold ones, the subject has never come up and likely won't. We're all a bunch of happy Ram owners and are living the dream.

Anyway, good luck with yours. Pls keep posting impressions and challenges. We're all happy to help.

Cheers, Ron

I know they(Ram)said that the controller for the Aisin has twice the capacity and is dual core for 2019. Maybe some electrons are getting lost with all that extra roomo_O

I'm sure it is something that can be dialed in, once they admit they made a mistake. That's the hardest hurdle to clear.

I haven’t seen a consumer grade electronic automatic that wasn’t adaptive to a degree. HD Allison’s are not. They just brutally fire the next gear lol.
Tom, it sounds like you’ve been given a bill of goods. Be prepared to start a chat online with Mopar themselves if this happens one more time. I got nice results that way.

I have already PM'd Ram customer service on another forum. I used their help when an FCA reflash that was part of a recall screwed up the operation of the Aux Switches in my '15 gasser. I have danced this dance way too many times before.
