I never noticed this on my 97, 01, 04 drag truck, but my 99 with the VP44 will increase power after am done accelerating and lift the go pedal. For example, edge set at 100 HP setting, two lane hyway and pass somebody with pedal mashed, boost goes to 25-26 and feels like i got a good 75 HP increase passing for the 6 seconds it takes. But then with I go to lift pedal the truck lauches forward with like another 50-75 HP increase. It feels really good, but why does this power come back on so hard as I am lifting thottle position.

Is this just the nature of the VP44 and I could not notice it in my 01 auto?

Truck is stock, so is my clutch slipping and I feel it grabbing once I lift, or is my stock HX-35 to small for edge comp on level 3?

Common Dodge Cummins thing. . . both of my 12-valves do it, and the 2001 HO and 2003 HO trucks I used to have did the same thing. And the '98 24-valve I had 10 years ago did it too.

I recalibrated the APPS one year ago, almost to the day. Not a day would go by that I would not get the dead pedal, now it has not happened at all for since I calibrated to voltage listed on APPS. I believe it did this before I calibrated as well.

The 04 truck did not react this way on the highway, but the off idle or parking lot flare up was dangerous. If you punched it to go, and somebody backed out in front of you, the truck still flared up and powered forward until rail pressure drops. This scared me a time or two.

The 01 truck seemed to have more bottom end grunt when passing, but with the auto transmission, i never noticed this power increase when lifting off the throttle north of 70 MPH.

Thanks for the replies. Don
