Based on the build dates posted by @BigPapa that is the original 2006 ECM. It shouldn’t have to be reprogrammed.

Looks more like wiring is your main issue.

If they reprogram the ecm to my vin do you think it will effect anything or will it be basically the same just reflashed back the way it was.

Well I hope I'm not to late I will call in the morning to try to stop them from reflashing it.

It’s already programmed to your VIN. That is the original ECM that was in your truck. It has the ESN on it I gave you for the original engine in your truck. Having that item has saved you a good chunk. Do you have anything else we don’t know about?

Means? They put the factory ECM onto the 05 engine that has a whole different wiring harness and CAN?
It gets worse here every time i swing by.

Can someone check the differences between 05 non-Can and 06 Can in the Pin outs on these two ECM connectors to see what else was fried by doing so?
Maybe that's the reason why the whole system is dead.

One example is in 05 pin 5 on C2 was for the intake heater, that pin in 06 is for the transmission control.

Great, yeah, that can't work that way. 05 Harness with 06 ECM won't go nice.

One more silly question will a 06 2 wheel drive engine harness work on my 4x4 if you happen to know I'm standing here looking at one for a good deal.

Yes, it should. If you have a VIN or ESN off the RWD I can check and make sure. You could also look for a tag on it for the Cummins part number 3977190 or 4931851.
