Take a look at this page. Down a ways on the page are pictures of each turbo and how to tell the difference.

The elbow will not work on a hardlined waste gate, but there are other options such as the . 22 shell, turbuckle or spring. If you search the boards for turnbuckle and 22*Shell you will find lots of info. (I invented the 22 shell method if you need more info on it).

If you only put an EZ on your truck you will be fine and not need any other mods, if you do add injectors later you will need more mods to make everything work.

Happy Bombing

You have a hardlined wastegate, so the boost elbow will not work. As mentioned above, there are alternatives (turnbuckle and . 22 shell are most popular). You don't even have to do these if you don't want to, but the extra boost really helps out. I don't have an automatic, but I'd assume you'd be on the "edge" of OK with just an ez (automatic guys chime in here).

As far as the guages...

Boost guage is easy

transmission temp is easy

EGT is easy/moderate/hard (depending on your skill level). It involves drilling and tapping a hole in the exhaust mainifold for installation of the "sending" unit (a probe).

If your only going to have 3 guages, I'd think long and hard about a fuel pressure guage... maybe in place of the boost guage (a boost guage will warn if something isn't working, the other three warn if something is about to break). It's easier than an EGT guage, just involves replacing a fitting on the injector pump to provide an outlet for measuring the fuel pressure.

If you do a search you will find more than you ever wanted regarding those questions. Ditto on the FP gauge, I think it's mandatory and should come second to only the pre-turbo egt pyro. Especially since you are going to add more fuel and have warranty concerns. The VP44 is a big hit to take if it goes and if the bill comes out of your pocket.

Don't be afraid. Ask away and you will receive. None of the gauges are hard to install, including fuel pressure. If you check here, there might even be a member close to your home that will help out.

Anthony4:

You can have more than 3 gauge readings in tha triple mount. There are at least a couple of companies that make dual gauges. Try looking at www.westach.com and www.spatechniue.com . And as mentioned above do a search here and you will find all kinds of info on these and other gauge types.

We can help with the 3-gauge set in a painted pod to match your trucks interior. We have Westach and Di-Pricol in black and white faced gauges as well and Western Diesel and Banks gauges in black faced. Our kits come with all the needed hardware including boost and transmission adapters, wiring and instructions.
