does anyone know about a 1996 L-10 cummins, I have a couple of questions about it running for about ten minutes at warm up then shutting down with fluid alarms sounding, anyu help is appreciated.

From what little I have been around the later model trucks. Check and see if there is sensor in the upper raditor tank. Or it might be in the overflow tank. If your anitfreeze level is below it this will make alarm an sound.

If your level is good. Then check the sensor itself.

Similar Troubles...............

The newer 5. 9's will throw out all sorts of codes and warning lights at me. The oil pressure system has two separate sending units to monitor the pressures. Often times the gauge will read zero but the other sensor for the ECU will read normal. Same for engine temps.

You may have experienced similar faults with the L10. My coolant sending units often read there is low coolant..... when in reality, the system is full.

Not all sensors will result in engine shut-down, however some will. If it's an oil psi, fuel psi or temp sensor issue, it may shut-down.
