I think your talking about Mike? at Inglewood transmission in Fullerton? He's done my trans work and cant say enough good stuff about Mike, he knows our Trucks.
I'm currently in the market for injectors for my 07/5.9 even though I just found one bad Solenoid on #2 but I to have 159K on the clock, it's just a hard pill so swallow right now without a paycheck in 5 months. lol Thanks Covid.
PS. What do you guys think about Injectors Direct in San luis Obispo ? they are a Bosch dealer and have some decent pricing on our Injectors, $391 each "New" Bosch ?

Replace the solenoid and build the trans. I'm at 220k on the clock and original injectors. What did the shop say about the injectors? leaking ect. ?

The price from ID is a good one for new, best choice. Just make sure the bosch number on the injector is new and you will be fine.

Hey p-Bar, The 07 I just bought has 159K on the clock and the previous owner probably used the OEM 10 micron fuel Filters. About 2 days after owning the truck I got put into limp Mode and got the P2146 ,P2609 and P0541. So I Ohm checked the Harness and individual Injector Solenoids ,#2 was at 2.5 Ohms all the rest were .3 Ohms after subtracting the .3 ohms in the test leads. No excessive oil levels nor smoke at start up or un-burned fuel smell, motor runs relatively smooth as well. So the clear culprit is Solenoid #2. Right? And My Trans was Built by Mike along with a Suncoast converter with full lockup controller.
And yes cerberusiam The Bosch Injectors are the 238s, when you add it all up with crossover tubes, gasket, etc. I'm up to $3,000 in parts I would do the install which saves me probably $1,000. Just a big hit after I just bought the truck.:( I had so many other mods I was planning for the truck instead of New Injectors. I'm hoping the Solenoid replacement would be a solution for the next year or so even though it's probably due for some new ones after running those OEM filters.

10 micron filters are not enough to protect the injectors. Bosch specified 4 micron back then, before Cummins made good enough filters, so 7 or 10 micron were used. That was the source of a lot of injector failures.
Another option, if within your budget, would be to get a more recent truck. 2013-up have excellent filtration and a good emissions system.

If the rest of the injectors are not showing issues just replace the one with the bad solenoid with a new injector and work on extra filtration. You really do not even need a new cross over tube at this point, just replace the injector causing the fault codes. That will save your $$ up front and when it is opportune opt for a set of BBI injectors.

I agree with just replace the faulty ones on the truck and drive it for awhile.. I had a bad #1 and they replaced it with a REMAN (warranty) and I never had any other issues, as far as I know, I had the truck from 92K miles --> 195K miles, never replaced another injector, and so that means the originals were good to almost 200k with proper filtration.. I will say that after I added the airdogII my OE filter never got dark again.. Your money is better spent on good filtration for these 3rd gens. If you still like it later do all the mods otherwise as has been said the newer trucks have great filtration and injectors.
