Today on the way home from shopping, a guy in a minivan decided he wanted my lane. I honked but he came over anyway and got some polishing of his hind quarter with my front wheel. Our bumpers hooked, and well, let's just say I need something new and better. (read: STRONGER)

What do you have or like? I could use some pictures and/or links.

It's sort of ironic, because I just took a road trip yesterday to get a pair of Ranch Hands for my old truck. Thought about taking that one, but I have a few more bolts to put in. I need to figure out the mods to make my Western snowplow work with it.

I am running a...

Ranchhand front end replacement on my '99. It works well, but on a 2 wheel drive truck, it is really heavy considering the Cummins is up there too. I have not "tested" the Ranchhand in the 5 years it has been on the truck so far. I am suspicious of how well it would work because like anything, it is only as strong as the weekest link. The DC frame flanges where the bumper attaches are really weak compared to the Ranchhand mounts and what I would like.

This bumper will be for my bruised 03.

I'm mounting the plow and the Ranch Hand on the 94.

I'm leaning toward a Buckstop. I like the look of those.

The link for Denver Offroad seems to bring up a general link page of some kind. (with pop-ups when you try to close it-- like I've heard the porn sites have)

You can't beat the buckstop IMHO. They are made just about 20 minutes from my front door. I'm almost ready to order both front and rear bumpers. Just need to save up a little more, because I'm going to have them coated with line X. Already have the 12,000 lb winch to fit inside. Can't wait. Very heavy duty and worth the money.

Have a replacement bumper by Tuff Country on my truck, you can ck it out in My Gallery. Any mini-van get in front of you with that on your truck, shame on him.

Anybody got a picture of the Ranch Hand on a 3rd gen?

I'm really on the fence between a Ranch Hand, Tough Country, or the Buckstop. I like the padded push bar on the Ranch Hand, but I like the lights and color (and mass) of the Buckstop.

If I ever get a winch, it will probably be on a reciever mount so I can use it front or rear of either truck.

Thanks for all the replies. I ordered Ranch Hands for front and rear yesterday. I got the full front with the grille guard and the "cowboy" rear.

I"m sure the others are good, but the fit and quality of the free ones I got for the 94 is pretty awesome. Hard to switch to something else. I like the look of the Road Armor and Buckstops, but I'm also cheap. :D

I appreciate Duck posting a link to pics of his friend's truck, but it was really hard to see that black bumper on a black truck. Must look really good in person, just hard to photograph. I'll shoot a few pics and get them in the readers rigs gallery when I get them on.

I guess I could do that now for the old one.
