Need pics of non stock front bumper

Hey guys, I am trying to decide if I want to re-do the stock front bumper or go with an aftermarket style. The issue is I cannot visualize what the after market ones will look like on these old trucks nor can I find many companies that make them for the old trucks.



Does anyone have any pics of theirs so I can see if the style looks good with the body lines?

They are made in OR the prices are really good I'm going to put one on my truck this year also. Have a hard time picking a color for it.

Check my old readers rigs on my 93. I've been running a Reunel winch for almost 10 years now. Its a bumper with the optional grill gaurd, optional headlight loops, and diamond plate top. ITs due for a sand blast and Line X now, as the Iowa salt has made it rusty.



I know they have changed things up a little and offer D-Rings and such. It shipped at about 300#.

I just ordered a Fab Four Bumper after much research. I liked the low profile vs. others. Realize not as much protection but it will provide what I am looking for. Here is a tdr link where a member posted some pics:

Yeah, I like the fab four bumper too. When they were here last Easter jeep safari, i talked to them and tried to talk them into making a 1st gen version. Unsuccessfully.

Dana, that's an original Warn bumper, fairly common here in the PNW but I don't think they make 'em anymore.

I too am looking for a HD front bumper for my crew project. Because my truck is 2WD ( coil springs ) I am concerned about the weight of some of the HD steel versions I have seen. I want protection from animals on the highway. Here is a picture of my friends 93 W350 with a homemade bumper. He hit a Chebby that turned in front of him on the highway. The only damage to the bumper was the paint and the rollers for the winch cable, which destroyed the grille when it hit it. The bad news is that because the bumper was so strong the frame buckled causing the bumper ends to hit the fenders. The good news is it saved him.

Ali-Arc does make an aluminum bumper but I don't think it is very good quality.

Personally I like the Buckstop version. They tell me it weighs about 190 lbs more than a stock one, so about 230 or so. It comes in powder coated grey or black. It would require a 3-4 week lead time, not a problem in my case. Check out the crew cab on their site.

I'll give you my two cents. In southern Iowa we have a HUGE white tail deer problem. Its not if you hit one, its when. My father has a T600 kenworth, and if you hit a deer with it, then you will likely by a hood, aftercooler, radiator, a/c condensor, tow bill, ect. I started researching a gaurd for the front and found the Ali Arc. They are a company that is based in Canada, and Austrailia. There is posts on thier cite where guys have hit MOOSE, and drove home their semis. We bought one for our T600, and it is substantial, all aluminum and lightweight. They are so sure of thier mounting, and such that they had a pin in the front to pull the truck when it it stuck, 80,000#+ stuck. They made their name protecting semis from Moose and Kangaroos. Dad has probably hit 15 deer in the last two years with no damage to the truck or the gaurd. It has paid for it self many times over. Many of the neighbors have bought them for thier trucks. Even the local fancy, bull haulers and tanker yankers have bought them and painted them to match, to protect there long hood Petes. My father bought there grill gaurd that mearly bolts onto the frame, and does not replace the factory bumper. He bought one for his Excursion, and one for his dodge. Last winter the Excursion rear ended a dodge pickup, putting two nice creases in the dodge's tailgate, pushing it clear in the bed, and hitting the bumper. The damage to the Excursion? Cracked bug shield. Drove away from a wreck that would have taken out the grill, the aftercooler and radiator.



My brother bought the full bumper/grill gaurd for his dodge, and has knocked down many deer. He ended up t boning an old lady, pushing the passenger door of the car, against the driver. His dodge was totalled from a bent frame, and such.



I love my Ruenel, and I like the looks. It was 300# shipping weight and has stood up just fine. If you like the looks of the Ali-arc, believe it will do its job.

I see "roo bumpers" on semis every day and while I will agree that Ali-Arc makes a good HD bumper for class 8 trucks I have also seen the ones they make for pick ups. My neighbour has one on a late model jimcee and it isn't holding up very well. I don't mean to badmouth them, just reporting on my experiences. I have had more than one truck acc shop that sells bumpers tell me that they are " entry level ". Shadrach

I had my doubts when dad got the gaurd for the Excursion, but when he came home after rear ending a Dodge, I decided that they are stout enough to protect the front end of the truck until you get into an accident bad enough to bend the frame of the truck. They are light, and stout, and I guess that's what I thought you were looking for, I just didn't want you to judge them mearly on looks.



Entry level in my mind are those decrotive ones from "Lund" that bend if you lean on them. I wouldn't call the AliArc entry level. I'm a moron for not seeing you live up north too.

well here is a picture of my homeade rear bumper. origionally came off an old fire truck and was about 2 feet longer, i made it to fit my truck, added spot lights, liscense plate lights, hitch, mounts, etc. this May i plan to finish building my front bumper, modeled after the ranch hand style, but im putting in 5 yellow tractor trailor marker lights along the bottom, 4 spot lights in the grill area, winch mount, etc. i have some drawings of it ill see if i can post.
