Greetings Pards; Had my first NON dealer oil change @ local trusted shop, for a little less $$ and better personalities.
The shop called to report cannot get a Fleetguard oil filter. I replied that its necessary to support any future engine claims I may have to make on my extended maintenance contract. May not be a big deal, but I can imagine a claims adjuster looking at a Purolator oil filter & saying "Sorry Charlie, this engine fix is on you."
Luckily I have a Cummins service & repair facility jes 20 miles away. They couldn't find a filter for me, as their database is not Mopar compatible, buut they could find correct filter based upon my engine S/N. Whaat?
Parts guy was nice enough to come out to my truck (glad I drove it) & found the (white) label on the engine cover's center rear; done deal! I complied with his request to be added to their customer database for future reference should I need it; again ***** service!
