What about the fact that I now own a $42,000 (or higher?!?) truck, and, God forbid, that my wife ever stops to consider this fact?

That's great. Because new vehicles lose 60% of their "value" in the first 4 years. BOMBS lose 90% of their value 5 days after you put them on (for resale purposes). So you can't EVER sell the truck--it'd cost way too much! BOMB ON and keep it forever!

As to wearing out engines--GREAT, that means I get to put in a PDR cam!:p

M Barnett, I think you've got it figured out. I agree 100% with your logic.

At 51, and with only 97K on my 95, I'm looking forward to the day I wear this baby out and can add some serious upgrades.

BOMB ON BABY.

Don't worry Dan, Stake has set a limit on the HP he's getting so you'll catch him..... :p and Rob will finish third with all the shifting he has to do... ... .....

Why is rebuilding an engine a bad thing anyway? You know sometime in the truck's life you're thinkin'... hmm... port and polish, blueprint, balance, all of that good stuff. You might as well rebuild it while you're there. ;) :D

Great Thread!

Sensible Bombing??!! I must be getting old, 3 cheers to Illflem and MBarnett:D. I would like my 300hp, $30K, CTD to outlive the payments on my kids college ed. About 8 years and 240k more miles:D JimG.

Only negative to my 400+ HP CTD is the cop who pulled me over for too much smoke:( I just said I had no idea what was "wrong" and would be sure to vist a mechanic soon:rolleyes::D :D

speaking of smoke

I can't wait to smog out the service bay of the local Dodge store--where they firmly believe that Ford owns Cummins:mad:.

Too bad it's across the street from the police station. Guess that's just a risk I'll have to take. :p

Bombs away baby.....

illflem... . With my current driving status in hiatus due to my doctor I did get to see the special about the fuelers. Being around them for many years and a avid fan of fuel racing its easy to see how much they have evolved in hp,mph and speed. If you happened to catch the latest happenings from the Keystone National's and missed first round of T/F then ya missed a doosey. Current IHRA T/F pilot Clay millican and NHRA shoe Doug Herbert got into the NHRA record setting burndown in first round. While standing and witnessing this live as it happened I could not believe they sat so long(1minute and 10 seconds was the offical count)and were shut down by the starter. With the ensuing fisticuffs that happened most everything else was oblivious to most, except one mionr little statement the "Snake" said while holding court in the lanes. They during the burndown had idled off about half a tank load off fuel(15 gallons) in the burndown, talk about fuel sacs!!!!

Negatives of a modified Ram,I can only think of 2. .

1-Trying to explain to Officer Jabloney why my truck suddenly went sideways when I leaned on it and he seen me. I tried the old it was not my fault routine the roads were slippery from the weather and as he looked toward the brightly moonlight sky and asked me to sign here I knew I should have studied harder in weather school...

2-Having to try and find Mrs. Hammer a Intense Blue Sport Quad SB automatic truck for herself. She HATES driving my 12valve stick so I'd have to say B. O. M. Bingt is hard on my wallet that way. (AND NO. she does not need to hear about the DD slick blue bottle rocket thats for sale)... ... . Andy

"I thought you refered to yourself as Dandoll..... "-but you just have to enjoy our beloved Swampy keeping the chatmoderator in line..... :D :D :D :D

Hey, that wet pavement thing works. And make them believe it was your truck smoking and not your tires ("See, it was black smoke not white. ) That's how I turned a wreckless driving ticket into a basic speeding ticket. I still had to get a lawyer though.

Myself, I haven't found any negitives of bombin', I was tired of all the money in my bank account anyway. I don't have that problem anymore, the good news is, that my bombin' list is gettin' shorter every week. ;)

Later, Rob
