New here but looking for some advice on nerf bars. Looking for ones that mount to the frame. It seems a number of the options out there mount to the body? At 365lbs I think a frame frame mount would be best. Pictures would be most appreciated!

They are not Nerf Bar's but they can handle the weight no problem . Look into Amp Step's the Tuck up out of the way when not in Use . But open with Door and are Very well Built .

Might check out Luverne Nerf Bars. I had them on several trucks and really liked them. Mount to the frame and easy installation job.

AMP steps all the way. Rated to 600lbs i believe.

I have a local cow puncher I help a lot that has AMP steps on a 2011 Ram. This guy beats the crap out of his truck on our rocky central California turf like you wouldn't believe and those AMP step still work. I'm a believer.

Mine (2013 factory) are attached to the inside of the rocker panel with 4 bolts. 2 on the front. 2 on the back.

To remove, you had to drill them out?

Nut serts or riv nuts are a 1 piece threaded insert that is swaged into a hole. The fastener threads into these. Having cleared that up I went out to the truck and looked again. My memory has failed. The riv nuts are in the upper part of the rocker panel. They support the majority of the wt. there were also 4 holes in the pinch weld. It appears to be quit stout but definitely NOT in the fame as I first said. If only this was the 1st time I've been wrong( today) I'd be a happy man. Sorry bout that.

I thought I was wrong once.................but I was mistaken lol

Thanks guys for all the input. I thought I was crazy not being able to find them on the web. I like the AMP steps but I think for that much loot I will a local fabricator build me some rock rails with steps.

White Knuckle Off Road makes sliders that mount to the frame that can double as nerf bars. I made a set similar to there's a few years ago. They will never sag.

Those are exactly what I am looking for, thanks! At the price though I think I will see what my local guy can do.

X2 for White Knuckle Off Road. I recently installed a set of these on my '14 2500 crew cab. These are an excellent product, and the bolt-on installation went smoothly--these are very beefy/stout sliders!

They are really more rock sliders than steps, though I did have the optional diamond plate added to the tops. They don't stick out very far or hang low, which is ideal for my use.

My build, including these sliders, will be in the spring issue of Overland Journal, and then in a later issue of the TDR magazine.
