Where'd ya get ur truck? I just transferred from there and got mine at Greenbrier. Good sales dept and new service is much better than it used to be. Use Cummins Mid-Atlantic, they are very knowledgeable and their prices will beat the dealer.

I have the Genuine steel black powder coat nerfs on my Y2K and I like them a lot, especially the mounting. They don't hook to the frame and there's no drilling or any of that kind of stuff. instead, they attach to the body to frame bushing. They give you a new set of bolts to replace the old ones. This is nice because there is a little flex to the bar when you step on it. Took me less than an hour to install. They were $178. 14 from 4 Wheel Parts.

My only complaint is that it doesn't go all the way to the rear wheel for easy bed access. I have a Highway Products toolbox that is flush with the rails and that would make access to the box easier. Something to think about. I have since found a nerf that goes from front to rear tire at http://www.gorhino.com and they're are really nice lookin'. click on the NEW PRODUCTS tab. Not sure of the mounting

Talked to the folks at Greenbriar but they wouldn't come off sticker enough. I'm not much for haggling. It wastes my time. I do my homework and expect their best price (or nearly) when I ask. If they are in the ballpark I'll deal. Most sales people won't do this, but there are enough that do. Drop shipped to Greenbriar, but purchased from Mark Roberts in Oklahoma. Great price, great people and NO haggling.
Greenbriar seems to be a decent place with a friendly attitude though. Had my first warrantee work done last week. A/C compressor stayed on continuously (cross wires in harness plug). They actually got it in and out in one day and acted like they cared.

I've got a set of the SteelHorse Black nerf bars ordered. I also liked the looks and ease of mounting. Also got a great deal - less than $150 shipped to my door. I got the steps in last week - installed the Friday night. They look and perform great. 5 year warranty. Mount by bolting a bracket onto the frame-to-body mount, then have a cheap looking metal "strap" that attaches to bottom of bracket on one end and to body on other end. I was disappointed when I first saw the mounting system, but, after installation, I love them. I weigh about 215 and I can jump up and down on them with very, very little movement. Alot less than a buddy's that mounts to frame and cost much more.

Just mounted a pair of black Westins for the QC, I'm tickled with them. My 200+ butt jumps up and down on them with no flex, and the rear door step is in the right place. $185. cash and carry-1 hr. install time.

Been following this thread with interest and am trying to decided between the steel or aluminum bars? I assume steel is stronger, and I know its cheaper, so whats the advantages of alum? Weight? Durability? Any thoughts?

I've been debating this one myself Vic. Aluminum will not corrode like the steel ones, are light weight, and the Mopar's have a unique mounting style (to the body instead of the frame). I think that if I go for the aluminum ones, I'll get the Mopar. I have also been considering the Black Steel Powder Coat by Manik. This way I can get a matched brush guard.
