We'll be pulling our toybox down to So Cal this weekend and most likely again over the New Year's long weekend. We'll only be down I-15 to Baker, CA though, then it's on state roads to the dunes.

Everyone be safe and happy holidays!

Wow, no posts here in a long time. There are tons of CTDs around here but I haven't seen any stickers... Finally got my TDR sticker on my back window.

I actually live in Boulder City now... Used to live by the airport at 215 and Windmill until the beginning of this year. I'm in the Air Force and work at Nellis so I go all the way across town every day. Hopefully see you around.

Ex wifes CTD

Hopefully you'll see my ex-wifes CTD (2000 2500 4x4 Q-cab 4x4 molten red)along side hwy 50 broke down in fallon somewhere. :-laf

Saw a silver or gray 3rd gen qcab today going south on 95 by Fort Churchill. It had a TDR grill badge. Was pulling my 29' Wildcat tt northbound towards Silver Springs.

Dang. Its not the ex broke down...

I was hoping it was the ex-wife broke down with flames coming out from under the dash panel when I got the e-mail alert from TDR.....

But no such luck. .

Maybe the next TDR Nevada alert will be a member seeing a 2000 CTD 4x4 quad cab Molten red with a Mag Hytec rear cover being swallowed by a GIANT RATTLESNAKE with a wrinkled looking blonde behind the wheel screaming, "HELP HELP" ... LOL

Anyone out there in Las Vegas??? just wondering

Chris

I'm out off of Trop and Sandhill. I usually drive on 95 between Trop and the Spaghetti Bowl. I'm a newbie to the Dodge Diesel Dually stuff so my truck is totally stock. Bought it to pull a '34 foot 5th wheel when I retire in June and go roaming the country. Is there a good diesel place that can install all of this after-market stuff here in Vegas? I have heard that the dealers here are a poor choice.

'05 Brite white 3500 quad cab dually w/ 6 speed

Jan, by chance you didn't happen to have an 03 before the 05, did you? I'm off Spencer and Russell, buddy of mine lives on Reno, think I know where you are, cul-de-sac or two north of Reno? Have to meet up for lunch or something one day !!

There is a Banks authorized distributor near the Stratosphere on Main St. He installed an exhaust brake on my 2002 Dodge. He did a good job. I watched him do it all.

Frank

Yeah, that's me, east of Sandhill to Rollingwood then turn right. Been here since '83. You can't miss the 5th wheel next to the garage:) I had a '96 Ranger before I brought "Moby" home. I talked to a CTD 2500 owner at Sam's Town RV park and he said with his 6 speed he didn't see any need for an exhaust brake but wishes he had bought the 3500 to pull his 33 footer. Any other opinions out there? What I need is a good car wash that can wash a dually.

Thanks for the reply.

You would be the person to ask about needing an exhaust brake. What do you think? I thought a few gauges on the pillar and an extra tank would be the first things I bought. I don't know where I would get the money to fill the tank though:)

Actually I thought you were another block down, but I know where you are now. Might cruise by tomorrow and see if you are around, will be at my buddys around the corner for a bit !!

I'm off to work at 1:30pm heading for the wilds of Utah. I work for the RR so my schedule is pretty weird. Days, nights, afternoons, weekends, it sucks. Only 5 more months and they can... ... . Oh, I go by Stan. Seems there were lots of good drugs back in the 40's and my parents hung the "Jan" thing on me. I have always gone by my middle name which isn't much better but life sure wasn't easy for a boy named Jan:)

I'm in the book. We could do lunch... . In & Out?

Stan

OK... . STAN huh..... LOL From where I come from (Vegas LOL), STAN stands for "*****, that ain't nothin". Usually for someone that always has to top what you have to say. Just thought I would give you some crap about your name from a Native Vegan.

See ya around.

;)

Drop a line when you get back, I'll keep an eye out for you. depending whats hooked to the truck, I'll give you a demonstration of an exhaust brake in action !!

Jan,

If you have a CTD that is newer than 2003 then you cannot use an EB with a 48RE auto transmission until 2006 or 2005 with the upgraded programing. If you have a stick shift, you can add an EB any year. I would add the EB first. It will make a whale of a diff in the way you drive. I had one in my 1997 auto and 2002 6 speed. I dont have one in my 2004 but it has the 48RE transmission and the "Tow/Haul" feature really works well for me. If I ever decide I REALLY need an EB I will put it in and take my chances with the thrust bearing wearing out. I hope that helped.

Damn, and all this time I thought I was talking to a broad here. :-laf Oh well, all is good. :) I have a brand new 40' GN , that just with truck and empty trailer and 20 gallons shy on fuel tipped the scales @ 18,020# I;d be happy to buzz you up and down 95 through Hooterville and show you what a difference an exhaust brake (and a box, exhaust, air intake... . ) makes !!! :)

We'll definitely have to get together in the near future. I got home this morning at 8am and will head back out at 9pm. I'm too old for this. I'd like to pick your brain and find out all the tricks of owning a CTD.
