There is but it's only enforced sometimes I guess. I picked the wrong inspection station apparently and they didn't like that I had a few stickers on my back window so they made me take them off to pass the safety inspection.

Here in Colorado most people don't know that we have a state law forbidding objects hanging from the mirror.

I have never heard about it being enforced, yet.

We also have a law regarding window tinting and I don't think the officials enforce the law regarding the really dark tints.

In California it is illegal to have anything mounted or "stuck" to the front window... . stickers, suckion cups for GPS, ECT... .

Not sure about NV

TDR sticker in Nevada

I was on the Extraterrestrial Hwy 3/4/11 2:15 am driving a tanker truck with 3 escorts when a silver Dodge short bed 3rd gen with toy hauler. Tried to pass first of all we were doing 70+mph. Second of all a tanker with escort's? what THE HELL were you thinking? Anyway after the escorts got you stopped I looked at the bumper on the left front was a TDR sticker like the one they send with the new mag. Bud let me tell you something just for safety sake dont pass on a 2 lane when a truck is going that fast at best youll end up in the ditch at worst you will end up dead. that road sucks anyway. And just to let you know Ive done this load for years and I NEVER KNEW THAT THOSE HELICOPTERS WERE THERE :-laf That scared the crap out of me

Oh, THAT HWY!!!!!! LOL

I drove that hwy back in 08 on a roundabout route to Ca, half vacation, have work.

I agree it was a less then desirable road at night time, but i must have run over 1000 rabbits and anything else that could commit suicide as far as critters go...

We stopped in Rachel at the RV park parking lot for the night. the place was so creepy, we left the next morning. .

Now, the $64000 question??????????????????????????????????

What could you possibly be hauling that requires "escorts and helicopters" to follow? I'm sure they were all painted black etc. Its either "glow in the dark stuff or fluid to make you fly high in the atmosphere"? :)

I have no idea what it is. And more than likely I dont want to know but it was funny as Hell to see that young man yanked out of his car and introduced to the hood of his car. The wife (I guess ) crying everybody yelling. We couldnt even get out of the truck. No they were not black that's only in the movies. A fitting end to my for hire truck driving ill turn over the ruts in the road to the son of guy that I shared a truck with for 22 years me AM him PM and fellow TDR members two boot.

Interesting story BIGNASTY, can't wait to hear more.

We travel US 95 between Las Vegas and Reno on our way to visit my brother in Grants Pass, Oregon. Very lonely long stretch of road. Another lonely stretch of highway we've done a number of times across Nevada is US 50.

I'll have to try 50. I've heard the same that it REALLY is the lonely highway

50 is busy compared to that one that goes through Rachel! 50 is just longer. Once you pass Fallon going east, there are only 3 more towns on 50 through to Utah. Austin, Eureka, and Ely. Make sure you are topped off. :-laf

It was probably military exlosives/ordinance.

I have taken US 50 many times when I had my own big truck to make more money I would overload the truck and got paid by the TON. Your rite that is one long long way of nothing. The thing the other driver said was how dark it was. He is a little nervous about doing some of the loads to these out of the way places. I have known his Dad for 22 years and his son for just as long the young man never wanted to do anything else but drive. You know dads though he didnt want his kid behind the wheel. I took my Intertrashanol truck and taught the young man his dad was really PO at me. But I think now that they are in the trucking biss together they will do fine. If they can land a few of these type of runs they will almost be a shoe in they pay outstanding.

In a tanker? I dont know but sometimes the load is VERY heavy and others not so much. Seeing that we dont go thru scales from Carson ca to any of the other places we've been I dont know. And no placards is kind of a funny thing to NOT have. Yuma AZ was always one of my favorite places to go the Army has some kind of weapons test range Man I would love to pull the trigger on one of those big booooommer cannons or some of the rockets that scream out of a truck mounted launch platform.

Dugway???

Just looked it up. Found a article about a teaspoon of "VX" gas missing and a 10 hr lockdown... WOW... ... in Jan 2011 no less.

Spooky little places the Military has.

There's some scary crap in Dugway I didn't mind hauling things that go BOOM but I NEVER hauled the kind of stuff that they play with. Its just ALOT out of my comfort zone

I saw my first truck with a TDR sticker on it today... . southbound on the strip north of Flamingo in the left lane. I almost passed him so he could see mine, but he put the foot down (sounded good) and moved over 3 lanes in heavy traffic and went west on Flamingo.

Tan 2ng Gen. TDR logo on bottom left of rear glass and Harley Davidson in the center. . Who were you ?

Noticed a 03-05 grey qc lb with a TDR grille badge parked two spaces down to mine at the Peppermill this morning, made me realize I don't have a TDR sticker on my truck!

There are 4 peppermills in Nevada that I know of and I have driven past all of them in the last 48hrs. Where you in wendover, Reno or Vegas
